He got about 51% of the popular vote.

That's common in presidential elections. They are close. And about 50% of the country voted for the other candidate. Ideally, that should tell us something about what it means to be president for 100% of the country.
The 2024 election is about equally close as the 2020 election was.

In fact in 2020 Biden's popular vote margin was about 8 million votes whereas Trump's popular vote margin in 2024 is only about 4.5 million and shrinking as more CA votes get counted.

In terms of electoral college, Biden won 307 electoral college votes and Trump seems on track to win 311 which is pretty close.

The difference is that in 2024 we just has endless screaming about fraud and stolen elections from Trump on down but I haven't seen any of that from Democrats this year. At least not from the candidates, campaign, or anyone in elected office. Despite an election that was equally close as the one in 2020.
Our newspapers and local news keep calling this historic and a "sweep" - and they were not fans so I'm impressed with their reporting today
Did they say the same thing about Biden in 2020 when he won by a wider margin?

If they said it, and it is favorable toward Trump/Republicans, then it is probably true... or...

Haha. It's so much more obvious now he had to have stolen the election.

Right. Even after 4 years, Trump couldn't point to a single stolen vote. Not a single one.

Somethings you just know without proof.
I so significant now but it seems to be a common observation after this election because it was handled completely different than 2020 in some ways.

Judges who voted for Trump and wanted badly to see him elected in 2020, and would have been glad to have found and prosecuted any stolen votes, in order to get Trump elected. But they couldn't find anything except for a few dozen here and there. Nothing that would have changed the election outcome. Vance understands this.
“First of all, on the election of 2020, I’ve answered this question directly a million times: No. I think there are serious problems in 2020. So, did Donald Trump lose the election? Not by the words that I would use,” Vance said.

An interesting map from the Financial Times by way of The Free Press, showing the shift by county. What I find interesting is the shift in OK towards Harris. Utah is another notable exception to the rest of the country but that maps with what my understanding is of Mormons and the shift of the younger members in a less partisan and more liberal direction as well as older Mormons' disgust with Trump.

Another interesting graph showing Trump's gains in all demographics except college-educated white women and the 65+ crowd:

Try hard not to offend. Try harder not to be offended.
Just because you are paranoid, doesn't mean they are not after you.

Trump flipped over 2,300 counties.
Older Mormons were influenced by Romney to a degree but my Mormon Aunt voted for Trump the first time, she has since passed. Any disgust they had for him as a person would be hypocritical since Harris is SO pro abortion, and also had an affair with a married man (helping her own career)
I can understand the "white educated women" pattern as the colleges are so liberal and women are freaking out about "my body my choice" not to mention chomping at the bit to have a woman run out country. At work, since Tuesday, I noticed women customers seem particularly "mad" in countenance- I have to ask each customer if they want to "round up to the dollar for Coats for Kids campaign" many women are snapping back "NO".
Don't take your anger out on children please.
