No debate on the relevance/validity of headcoverings in this thread, please. Simply looking for info/reviews. My wife was wondering if any of you parents (particularly mothers) have come across any books or literature on the subject mentioned in the title that would be engaging specifically for young or pre-teen girls. And yes, she already has the Bible. She did come across the following link, has anyone read through it (or others similar) who would have any critique thereof? Thanks in advance. https://joycescoverings.com/product/mama-why/
Well, there is an article on the Gospel Coalition's website arguing against head covering. Unfortunately for them, the reasoning they use is so inconsistent that even my former anti-head covering pastor was forced to the conclusion that HE was inconsistent in the matter. You can't reject having women teachers, saying that applying a culturally driven hermeneutic is not valid, and reject head covering using the same culturally driven hermeneutic. The author finally runs down bazaar rabbit hole that you need some kind of symbol.....but not head covering. The article is way to dense for a young teen, but for an older gal with a knack for pointing out inconsistency, it is a gem.
I believe she is a member of a church in our conference. That being said, a few years ago she stopped making traditional "Kapp" style veils for people not living in her immediate area. I would suspect that Switzerland would not be in her immediate area. They are not advertised on her website. That is what my wife wears, so she got her last set from someone in my own state, Maryland. If this is what your wife needs, please PM me.
People other than Holdeman Mennonites wear those or smiler ones. Saw plenty of those this past week, and unless the CoGiC(M) is suddenly going to teacher's conference, those are not unique to Holdeman.

... you're seeing opaque black caps? Where on earth are cap styles coming in?

Fairly similar to that. Mostly from the midwest. I did a bit of a double take but they sure look like those. Faith builder's teacher's week. I suspect they are not exactly those, but could pass. I suspect that CoGiC (M) people do not go to such conferences, although they would be welcome.
We have our own teacher prep classes (usually organised regionally). With over 100 schools, there are a lot of schoolteachers to get ready for the upcoming school year.

Joyce only makes Kapp style coverings for the women in Keystone Conference.

But not ALL the women in Keystone. Just the ones in her area. She declined to make my wife’s as well as our pastors wife. Reason: we live in Maryland. We are most assuredly Keystone.
