There are many Republicans who are pro abortion and believe in human caused climate change. How are they Republican issues?
Anti-abortion has been a longstanding central part of the Republican party platform both at the national level and at the state level in this country. That was Trump's main appeal to the Evangelical right which formed his base. That he would appoint an anti-abortion majority to the Supreme Court. So they ignored much of the unsavory aspects of Trump's character because of abortion. Every single state that is Republican-controlled is rushing forth new anti-abortion laws in the wake of Dobbs. Every one. How can you not say that abortion is a Republican issue? It might be the single biggest Republican issue after tax cuts.

Ken wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 6:13 pm Elon has already announced that he supports DeSantis in 2024: https://www.reuters.com/world/us/musk-s ... 022-11-26/
And he said this year was the first time he EVER voted for a Republican. One vote does not a right winger make.
Like I said, perception is everything. When you have a Twitter following of what 11 million people? Every thing you say is amplified. Elon's Twitter following is about 5-times greater than FOX News prime-time audience. That is huge.

Ken wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 6:13 pm More importantly, PERCEPTION is much more important than REALITY when it comes to this sort of thing.
So you are saying what you perceive is more important what what really is? This speaks to a lot of the things you post about. I think facts are important. If you do not, then it is hard to carry on any discussion if all you go by is emotions.
I'm not talking about me or you. I'm talking about the public perception of Elon and why Tesla sales are falling through the roof. It is the perception of the public in the heavily blue areas where 90% of Teslas are bought and sold. Whether it is completely based on reality, only vaguely based on reality, or completely fiction. It doesn't really matter. Tesla sales are still dropping because people believe it and they don't want to be seen as supporting that by buying Teslas. I'm not a Tesla owner or stockholder and never have been so what I think or believe is irrelevant.

Robert wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 8:25 pmAnd how is it doing compared to the rest of the stock market? I would agree that some extreme leftists have pulled their money, but I would suspect that some "right wingers" would be buying. If they are not, then they do not see Elon as a right winger, which he is not. Revealing collusion of the government to curtail free speak is not a right wing thing. It is a liberal thing. Classic liberals would stand with Elon as he exposes government corruption and over reach. I do, yet I do not stand with Elon on everything, because he is not conservative enough.
Lots of companies are thriving in today's economy. Exxon is up 73% in 2022. Eli Lily is up 34% in 2022. Most of the car manufacturers are down, but only by about 1/3 as much as Tesla. Why has Tesla dropped so much in 2022? I don't think it is because lefties are selling their Tesla stock. There aren't nearly enough of them to make a dent. Rather it is all perception. The traders who manage giant mutual funds, hedge funds, pension funds, etc. who buy and sell billions of dollars of stocks and bonds every day perceive Tesla to have been weakened by Elon's antics and they dump the stock which plunges the price. They are just acting like ordinary mercenary stock traders and don't care one way or the other about Elon or Tesla or politics. They perceive it is going to drop so they sell.

Like I said, this is all about perception. Elon is now perceived as being a right-winger and also a horrible boss due to his management of Twitter. That is the message you see amplified everywhere in left-leaning media outlets. Just for example

I disagree with this. I do think it was one aspect, but not the single aspect.
Ken wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 11:55 pm Every single state that is Republican-controlled is rushing forth new anti-abortion laws in the wake of Dobbs.
Not EVERY state. There are multiple Republican states that are not pushing hard on this. Yes, there are several that are, but not every state. You absolute statements are misinformation.

I do think it is one aspect, but again, not the single aspect. The economy is a lot of the issue. Tesla is much better staged to handle a tough economy, unless the government bails out bad run car companies again.
Ken wrote: ↑Tue Dec 27, 2022 11:55 pm Elon is now perceived as being a right-winger and also a horrible boss due to his management of Twitter.
This is an intentional attempt by left wing media and others because they are mad that Twitter is not shutting down other voices anymore. Do you really want to parrot and side with the marxists that want open dialogue shut down? Maybe I should do the same here and see how you like it. It is only good when you are on the side of those in control. Minority voice is a key point of classical liberal ideology. Shutting down other voices makes one a marxist, not a liberal.

Not EVERY state. There are multiple Republican states that are not pushing hard on this. Yes, there are several that are, but not every state. You absolute statements are misinformation.
There are currently 23 Republican-run states (with both the legislature and governorship in Republican hands). They are:

Alabama
Arizona
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Iowa
Mississippi
Missouri
Montana
Nebraska
New Hampshire
North Dakota
Ohio
Oklahoma
South Carolina
South Dakota
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
West Virginia
Wyoming

Every single one of these states either: (1) had prior abortion trigger law bans passed by previous Republican legislatures already in place and waiting for the repeal of Roe, (2) has has passed new abortion restrictions in the wake of Dobbs, or is (3) in the process of implementing new abortion restrictions as in the case in Indiana and Florida.

Not every one of these 23 states currently has a total ban on abortion. For example, in Montana the Republican legislature passed an abortion ban but it has been stayed by the courts based on the State Constitution. And New Hampshire still allows abortions with some restrictions but Republican legislature passed a suite of anti-abortion measures in 2021. In Nebraska Republicans are pushing for an abortion ban but even though they control the state legislature they still two votes short of the 2/3 majority necessary to override a filibuster in the Nebraska Senate. But it isn't for lack of trying: https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory ... y-92066676

So I think it is entirely fair to say as I did that it is the state Republican party policy to ban or heavily restrict abortion in every single Republican-run state. They might not all have complete abortion bans in place as of this moment, but they are all working in that direction as a matter of Republican party policy.

In which one of these 23 states is that not the case?

Which of your three scenarios applies with regard to New Hampshire?

Tesla sales and stock prices couldn't possibly be dropping for any other reason than Elon's politics. Like, for instance, that they catch on fire for various reasons and get negative publicity in the news. That obviously has nothing to do with it. And the stock price drops when there are more fires? Mere coincidence. It isn't a complex grid of factors. It's all politics, nothing else.

Amazon stock has collapsed by near 50% YTD. Has Jeff Bezos started voting Republican or something?

Do you remember the famous graph used to show correlation with vaccine preventable diseases being reduced when vaccines were developed? Or the other version showing those diseases being reduced from sanitation practices?
Either way, if you plot it the value has been decreasing since well before twitter. I could produce a graph of some big name stock and associate it’s drops with every time some random person did something. Assuming one believes there is value in EV then this is the time to buy as it is likely will rise again.
this does not constitute as investment advice and any attempts at investment are best done based on Biblical truth rather then a call person called Soloist
Soloist is telling me to buy stock. I'm going all in.
