It seems that none of the resident liberals want to respond to this. The narrative of, "No one is trying to indoctrinate your children to be trans, you're crazy" is rapidly crumbling.
The next narrative employed will have to be something along the lines of, "It's right to offer 3 year olds puberty blockers without their parents knowledge, if you don't support that you're a hateful bigot who should be institutionalized"
I can see SZD going for that, although maybe not publicly, but I can't imagine Ken actually having the stomach for that.
I looked it up on Amazon and it is a 96 page book with mostly mundane advice to kids about being comfortable with their appearance and body (i.e. don't be anorexic or obsessed with unattainable beauty ideals or expensive fashions that you can't afford). There is only one page out of 96 that discusses transgender issues and it basically says talk to your parents or a trusted adult if you are questioning your gender identity. Which is actually good advice because kids will actually get hormones and such on the stealth. Keeping information away from kids only drives them underground. Do you think a young transgender teen does not already have a near infinite wealth of information and misinformation about transgenderism at their fingertips? A book that actually lays out correct facts is preferable to them finding all sorts of other misinformation online.
And seriously, no one is offering puberty blockers to 3 year olds without their parent's knowledge. It would be easier to take your arguments more seriously if you didn't always include such hysterical nonsense. If you have to continually embellish your arguments with factually incorrect hysteria then they probably aren't very good arguments.

How many crimes committed in bars, etc., involving alcohol, drugs, crimes of passion, etc.?
Does it matter?
Most crime (other than white collar crime) involves drugs or substance abuse of some sort. Not just hate crimes but most crimes. They are either conducted by people who are drunk or on drugs, involve crimes over drugs (dealing), or are crimes by druggies to get money for drugs.
And no I don't think it matters. Drugs and alcohol doesn't really change who someone is, it reveals who they are when the inhibitions and filters drop. People don't become racist or violent just because they get drunk. They are already racist and violent and getting drunk just lowers their inhibitions and reveals who they really are.
That’s your assessment+opinion. It reflects who you are.

Which of my points are you actually disagreeing with?

Did you notice Ken’s insightful posts in the 2020 topic? If he’s not being paid, he should be.

The real issue is that you see nothing wrong with transgender if children. Because if you did, it wouldn’t matter how many pages the book has.
Think of it this way: imagine a 96 page book about some topic (pick one), but then is matter of factly mentions on a page or two the “facts” about say, white supremacy. And it goes on to say stuff like how bad other races are, but hey children, if you have questions about the finer points of it, oh, just ask your parents exactly how much you should hate, and when and where violence is appropriate. Maybe they will tell you that you are a child, and so you should wait until you are an adult to decide whether to lynch someone.
This would be patently absurd and evil. And liberals would lose their minds.

The narrative of, "No one is trying to indoctrinate your children to be trans, you're crazy" is rapidly crumbling.
In mainstream American society these days, including the public school system and many publications targeting children, children are taught that they need to figure out their sexual preference and their gender identity, and that these are central to who they are. And I'm convinced that makes a huge difference in the number of children who decide they are trans. Also, some parents may push their children that direction, thinking that any girl with tomboy characteristics may be trans, or any boy who is soft.
I agree that this is really bad.
But I also think that Christians need to do a better job of promoting our own narratives, as opposed to expressing more hostility toward the world's narratives. We need more compelling sex education from Christian perspectives.
And I don't think we can change the culture around us by expressing louder disapproval in stronger words over and over again. It's not working for us. And it isn't what Jesus did. It can often look like hatred and hostility, which doesn't attract anyone to the Kingdom of God.

so to sum up your defense: the book doesn't say what it says.
The book is targeted to 3-12 year-olds, and provides a list of resources in case the children "don't have an adult they can trust". It's not hysteria. The agenda is allow children to transition without the intervention of their parents.
20 years ago, I'm sure you would've been telling the Christian right to stop including hysterical nonsense about homosexuals trying to get married too.

I'm glad you see an issue here. Ken's figurative plugging of his ears is infuriating.

The authors of the new testament speak about sin and degeneracy of their times in very explicit terms, especially as it creeps into and corrupts the church. I think the church needs more hostility towards the world's narratives, and especially towards agents of the world working to subvert the church eg: MCUSA. I think allowing those hostile to Biblical truth to have a seat at the table has been deeply harmful. This shouldn't be debate of equal voices, this is the truth vs lies, there is no debate, there is no discussion.
So far, loudly rejecting these narratives is working in plain communities quite well. Transgenderism is non-existent, which makes sense, because gender disorders in children resolve themselves by age 18 in something like 99% of cases unless there are very strong pro-transition influences in the child's life.

Ken, I think you are minimizing the concerns of parents like me. I don't want to share a whole lot of details, but I think my parenting was really undermined by things like this in the public school system and by counselors.
I do think parents need to be aware of this. I could not send my children to a public school again unless I knew they would support my parenting.
