i’ve never looked at it either.
i’m aware some (haters) sign up and follow Trump and others in various ways - their hope is to damage, undermine, whenever possible.

i think of it as part of TDS. it’s kind of ironic, and sad. a spiritual poverty, really. :-|

Truth Social. Trump's personal social media platform.
You're one of the last people I'd have suspected of having a Trump Social account.
I don’t. I just saw it forwarded to another forum and thought it was more recent. Apparently Trump has been on Elon’s case for a while now.
I spend my time on many things.

I don’t spend my time on screenshotting whatever Trump is saying on Twitter and blasting it on MennoNet.

Apple = Public company
Twitter = Private company (under Musk)

“So THIS is why they're coming after Elon, they're scared” | Redacted with Clayton Morris / 17min

Description:
Elon Musk dropped a bomb shell,
admitting that Twitter was actively involved in undermining the 2022 elections in the United States.

By some statistics, the amount of hate speech on Twitter has dropped dramatically since Elon Musk has taken over.

At the same time Twitter has added over 2 million new accounts.

No wonder the powers that be are so worried about him!

It's still amazes me how Elon fired most of the Twitter workforce and it really didn't affect its operation.
Evidence is, it’s all-around improved.

Revenues are reportedly down by more than half. That seems like an affect.

Twitter is also likely to run afoul of EU regulations regarding spam, digital privacy, and hate speech which will also be a consequence of all of these layoffs. Which could find it heavily fined or restricted in the EU.

Twitter isn't just a US company and isn't only subject to US laws. It is subject to the laws of every country in which it operates. And the US isn't even its largest market.

Expenses are also down, like no more $700 lunches.

So apparently a private company actually can’t decide what speech is on its platform after all…

Politicians will never let go of that power and control. When it works in their favor, they allow it. When it does not, they grab it back.

Were you under the misimpression that private companies are free to do anything they want in every country in the world? Even the First Amendment stops at the water's edge.

U.S. elected used to be more conscientious about this.
If nothing more, in the least they respected that all, including themselves, would be subject to prevailing laws. This could be a bit frustrating for the electorate, ‘cause, it meant, the elected could often appear wishy-washy to opponents. They weren’t. They were being mindful of their own sins+crimes (they weren’t about to end).

If you enjoy theft, in decision-making, it’s likely you’ll be lenient on thieves.

Today, the push appears to be to somehow craft legal language that is 2-tiered.
One indulgent set of rules for libs, another strict set for all others. It’s weird to witness this play out. They seem convinced it’s just a matter of nuanced legal language to get there. No shortage of legal language to play with!

For those who worship self as god. No bottom to the pit.

Musk does not have to comply with the EU. He may have consequences if he does not, but he will not be jailed, just fined or blocked. Twitter is a US based company. He just has to comply with US law. He can choose to comply with other country's law, but that is a choice.
