I haven't read of any recent significant advances made by the Russians.

Even though these numbers are bad, it seems like Russia has not been able to inflict much damage to the capital city.

China may be at a turning point where continued overtures to Putin's Russia will have consequences for international relations.
Yahoo News wrote:“There are lots of indications that the Chinese are doing more behind the scenes to support Russia, in every sector: financially, economically and militarily,” one official said. “And that’s deeply troubling. If they continue on this path, it will be a decisive turning point that will likely lead to much deeper anxiety in Europe about China and a more profound schism between Washington and Beijing.”

Members of Congress have warned that if there is evidence of Chinese military aid to the Russian campaign in Ukraine, they will impose punitive economic measures. Corporate leaders are also likely to reassess their business with China, along with European governments.

Friends of ours in Poland posted the following video a few days ago on the Ukrainian refugee crisis. Their lives have been transformed overnight as they have been plunged into this situation, and their work is worth supporting.

This really is speculation.
As for the last sentence, it seems fanatical.
Yahoo will speculate. Time will tell.

Most or all of this drama, humiliation, wasted taxpayer money could be spared -
with even modest attempt at presenting balanced facts from the start.

Of course it is speculation. We have no idea what will happen.

For everyone's sake, I would love to see this invasion "run out of its stockpile of missiles."

What exactly will America do? Stop importing goods from China?

China will do whatever it wants and will ignore Western attempts to control it. Our industrial sector will shut down once the flow of Chinese goods stops. America doesn’t function without computers, electronics, electrical equipment - all made in China and we don’t have any way to make it here anymore.

Since we are Americans, perhaps we should instead love to see our nation run out of missiles.

Instead, America is supplying munitions and missiles to the Ukraine military. Do you think this is morally acceptable?

No, of course not, but there are infinite possibilities in terms of reducing America's dependence on Chinese imports. China also needs western markets, so I don't agree that China is completely free to do whatever it wants.

Part of what makes global trade possible is goodwill between nations, and the events of the past few weeks are eroding that goodwill in very profound ways, and it is possible that it will get much worse.
