I wasn't entirely joking.
I want to hear CAM's response to this piece before I start reading into it too far. Its only fair.
I don't think CAM will bother responding to it.
in this case, i see nothing positive coming from a response from CAM.
one thing is guaranteed: continued speculation+gossip.
the above article is written with the narrative that they, alone, have facts, it insists on it.
i’m not convinced children should not go to Haiti. as a child, no matter what, the one thing i would not want would be to be separated from my mother/parents, if she/they were in danger, all the more. there are other reasons for children to be with their parents, but, my empathy with children wanting to be with their parents is first.
the article oddly states all 17 hostages were U.S. citizens. odd, because every other report (i saw) on this made the point that one hostage was Canadian. i have not read everything. but there have been numbers of sources, including mainstream, Catholic, etc.
if this article is true, or more true than others, the expectation would be for more such high profile, high stakes kidnappings+demands. “business is thriving.”
it’s an odd report, expressing a specific narrative. withholding accountability.
the first-person statements by the hostages seems credible, by folks who value honesty in their faith beliefs.
“consider the source.”
This is my outside view. Unlikely a majority view!
