600,000 deaths out of a country of 300 million is, as Bootstrap would stay, "statistically insignificant". 0.19% of the population. And if we dug into the data a little deeper, we'd find out almost all of those deaths were of people over the age of 65.
So Josh. How many deaths would it take to be a significant and meaningful number to you?

I noticed that over on the Portland thread today you were making a big deal out of 65 murders to date in Portland in 2021. Is 65 a significant number of deaths but not 660,000? For the sake of comparison, during that same time period Portland experienced 662 Covid deaths, or 10x the number of gun deaths. And Portland’s Covid death rate was far lower than the national average. What about the 13 deaths in Afghanistan that were mistakenly taken out by a US drone strike? Were those significant? You made a big deal about those last week.

This is a Christian forum where one would expect to find a reverence for life. I find it jarring that so many of you are willing to brush off 660,000 deaths as “statistically insignificant” or not meaningful. I would expect to find that sort of callous rationalization in authoritarian dictatorships like Stalinist Russia or Communist China. But not here.
No. Rather 26,000 children die everyday from simply not having enough healthy food and the COVID vaccine supporters are more concerned about their comfortable lifestyle and living longer as much more children suffer that could be helped. In the broader picture focus of covid looks selfish.

That doesn't sound like Christianity, that sounds like paganism.

Josh. No one wants to shift schools back to virtual learning as has happened in various districts across the south from Texas to Georgia to Tennessee to Florida where they have had absolutely massive outbreaks in the schools due largely to the utter lack of mitigation measures and low community vaccination rates. Once Covid gets out of control and rages through a community and its schools they are forced to shift back to virtual learning because way too many staff wind up out sick for extended Covid quarantines and hundreds of kids end up on extended Covid quarantines because they are sick too.

That is why here in Washington, schools are operating under strict Covid protocols including masking and mandatory vaccinations for staff. No one wants to shift back to virtual learning because it sucks for everyone involved, both students and teachers. One of the school districts back in Waco where I briefly worked student teaching was recently closed because they had 3 staff die in rapid succession due to Covid and hundreds of students and staff test positive and come down sick. There weren't enough staff and students left to really keep the school district open. This is Texas where mask mandates were prohibited and vaccines were discouraged and this is the logical outcome of those policies. Since this article was written there have been one more and maybe two more staff die of Covid. No one wants this, which is why we are taking steps to make sure it doesn't happen here:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/educatio ... hers-dead/

A Central Texas school district is temporarily closing after two teachers died of covid-19 in the same week, while parents and legislators in the state continue to clash over mask mandates in classrooms.

Officials with the Connally Independent School District, north of Waco, said its five suburban schools will be closed until after the Labor Day holiday following the covid-19 death Saturday of Natalia Chansler, 41, a sixth-grade social studies teacher at Connally Junior High School. Her death came just days after 59-year-old David “Andy” McCormick, a seventh-grade social studies teacher at Connally Junior High, died of covid-19 on Aug. 24, the district said.

“We are very heartbroken,” Jill Bottelberghe, the district’s assistant superintendent of human resources, told the Waco Tribune-Herald, adding, “It is very devastating as far as the students, the staff and the community as a whole.”

And it is good thing we aren't doing anything like that then with respect to Covid. Guess what Neto. As of today, we have administered 389 MILLION vaccine doses here in the US, and 5.95 BILLION doses of Covid vaccine worldwide and not one single baby was aborted to make that happen. As a result, many hundreds of thousands of lives have been saved, both young and old. Parents, children, grandparents, teachers, neighbors, nurses, doctors, friends, relatives. Everyone one of those lives are important. Not just to their family, friends and co-workers. But I believe to God as well.

Sorry, but all cause mortality is still up. There is no evidence yet, that "lives have been saved"

How exactly are the vaccines "saving lives". Nothing on this graph correlates positively to vaccination rates.
