Maybe you're not trying very hard to create Marxists?
According to some of my fellow posters, I’m actively exposing my kids to cultural Marxism, but I’m actually more concerned right now about teaching them how to write a paragraph and keeping them engaged.

I would give you all kinds of new teacher advice, but I'm sure you don't need it. One thing I have observed over the years is that kids quickly adapt to whatever teaching style and standards you wish to enforce. They will act one way in one classroom and differently in another without hardly even realizing it. So expect them to act and behave the way you want on day one and continue expecting it through to day 180 and you'll be just fine.
Most people who have never taught in a classroom have no understanding that teaching is about 75% classroom management and only about 25% what you are actually teaching.
We don't start class here until August 31st so I have two more weeks but our inservice training starts on the 24th. At least they put a lot of the tedious stuff online so I can work through that at home at my own pace.
