Hello! I am interested in looking for church plants or new churches ( anabaptist and moderately conservative) in or near the cities of Detroit, MI, Toledo, OH, Chicago, IL etc.
I am looking for ministry opportunities in especially diverse areas of cities, but would like to stay in my area if possible, and would love to join a church gathering with a similar vision.
Thank you!

There's a church outside of Detroit that someone I know just visited today. If you check your private messages (PMs), I will contact you with a report about their visit and some contact info.

There is a small mission in Detroit MI. I think ernie, who is here on this board, might know more about it.

There are a variety of churches in the northwest Ohio area. Our resident ohio jones would probably know the most. I am not aware of conservative churches there that are focused on a city mission.

Chicago IL has very little in the way of conservative Anabaptist activity. The most significant outposts are the Apostolic Christian churches there. I've visited them a few times, along with a friend who drove up from Joliet to visit. I would recommend them for a seeker, but they are not "inner city mission" types of churches.

The closest fit to what you are talking about, that I know of, would be Tidings of Peace Mennonite Church and school in York, PA. It may be worth a visit to spend some time with like-minded people. There is also a Brethren origins community near Dayton, Ohio that is very much aligned with what you are talking about; I refer to them as the "Baer group". Let me know if you'd like their contact info.

Detroit has one conservative Mennonite church (Grace Fellowship) on the south side of town.

Two new "organic" church plants have been attempted in Hamtramck and Dearborn. These small fellowships have floundered significantly the past year.

I can provide more info as needed via PM.

Yesterday did not go well for my associates trying to visit a Pilgrim type of church near Detroit; it’s now a Seventh-Day Adventist church. Needless to say there were no Sunday services.

Thank you so much for this info! If you could PM me further info on Grace Fellowship in Detroit, and the "Baer" group in Dayton, I would really appreciate it!

Does anyone know of a conservative Mennonite (or maybe conservative Charity) church in the eastern part of Michigan. I am thinking straight north of Detroit and up to the Saginaw Bay area. I can’t seem to find much of anything.

Thanks!
I have been a reader for awhile, but am new at posting anything. I know this is an older post, and I may not even be replying correctly; but I’m going to give this a try. I’ve met a family who attends a Pilgrim Mennonite church in Adrian, Michigan. Here is a website link to that church:

I am friends with Hans and Jubal Bayer, who live west of Dayton Ohio. They grew up in my congregation. I really appreciate what their little fellowship is doing!
Could anyone online please explain to me how to PM someone? There’s so much about this I’m still trying to figure out! Thank you so much!

If you're viewing the desktop (as opposed to mobile) site, under the poster's name in the right column there's a Contact field with a quote bubble icon that expands when clicked to show email and PM icons. Otherwise, click on the person's name and go to their profile page, where there will be links to send email or PM (provided they haven't disabled those contact options).
