Poll: Church services during a pandemic
Anyone is welcome to contribute to the thread, but the poll is for those who regularly (or would regularly, in the absence of a pandemic) attend an Anabaptist church.
The choices are based on a Pew poll from several months ago.
Are you are satisfied with the current meeting status of your church?

#3 - Wear masks until seated in church. Benches placed 6' apart. Masks put back on at the end of the service.
(should also include #4 but the poll does not allow us to change our vote)

Masks entire service.
Chairs in groups of people who regularly are together and those groupings are 7' apart. Communion is in prepackaged cups/wafers and disposable so after taking communion have a bag to dispose- put out number per people sitting in that section.
Still have online live but also can watch later services for those who choose to not come. Number is limited by law but have never been entirely full so not an issue.
Offering in a box in the back.

Re: Poll: Church services during a pandemic
We continue to meet as Anabaptists have done since 1525.
Government laws against baptisms notwithstanding, we continue to baptise and to meet, including with men and women on separate sides. We significantly changed things for several months at the start of the CCP-virus “pandemic”; since then, we are back to meeting normally.
Things are very hard for our brethren in Canada. In California, another group of Christians is meeting secretly in homes for fear of persecution from state authorities. It is truly amazing to see America and Canada with church banned worse than in Russia.

Our county has a high positive rate now. While there are other churches in the county that are meeting, ours is choosing to protect our many vulnerable people by only meeting via Zoom.
We are currently working on improving the church building's air circulation system to make things safer to reopen when the infection rate gets lower.

We meet as normal, after several months of not meeting during the spring, with several minor changes. We sit as families and we mostly don't make physical contact when greeting each other. It's depends on each person's comfort level.

Services are more/less normal. Sunday school classes were jack-wagoned for a while. We have a special counsel meeting next week and sounds like its business as usual.

Re: Poll: Church services during a pandemic
Our county (Holmes Co. Ohio) continues to have high numbers of virus cases, and many families in our congregation have lost close family members.
Our congregation has been off & on with services, going back again to regular services (w/ Sunday school) this coming Sunday. We have not attended in person since our son started leukemia treatments. Before that, we sat in the back in chairs spaced out somewhere close to 6 feet, but others who didn't care often invaded that space. Not sure when we will resume going in person. We have always been able to listen, and they sometimes live-stream as well. Most Sundays we listen to (or watch) at least one other congregation's service. I miss Sunday school the most, as the music is not to my liking.

May I ask you how you personally feel about Christians who are pressuring us to treat this as no worse than the flu?Neto wrote:Our county (Holmes Co. Ohio) continues to have high numbers of virus cases, and many families in our congregation have lost close family members.
