A couple stayed with us overnight and the wife mentioned this morning that she used to manage the sewing center that sells clothes for girls and women. Her mom, who owns the store, is Apostolic, but the sewing center has employed Amish-Mennonites as well.

We are blessed with a few local "re-uzit" shops that actually deal in cape dresses and plain cut suits. They will not take immodest clothing!

Much of the stuff here is to period for our use. The Edwardian jackets got good reviews.

Wife: here what is the cheaper option I found than calypso for girls swimsuits. I think they have women’s ones too, and then you can always pick up leggings from the thrift store or elsewhere. It’s a US-based company, and it worked out well for our second grader.

Here is Lancaster County we have lots of options for modest clothing, with numerous thrift shops like Re-Uzit. There is Weaver's Store and Good's store, etc. Also, you can find reasonably priced modest dresses on Amazon. But the best option for women's modest clothing is sewing your own.

Some people don't sew for a variety of reasons, so that is the purpose for this thread.

My sister in law runs

Whether or not the prices are "reasonable' I guess is probably a subjective matter. On the whole though, in my judgement, it fits the bill of this OP.

Here are the "new arrivals" =)

Wife: Oregon used to have a wonderful consignment shop, called graceful garments at somebody’s house. They have since closed down, but they saw everyone from Mennonites to homeschooling family to Seventh-day Adventist, and even a couple of Muslims. there’s a little shop with cape dresses and boys clothes over in Tremonton, Utah, but graceful garments was a huge blessing to me when I first started dressing modestly, especially since I knew next to nothing about sewing

I have found that buying the undershirts from mainstreet exchange in black and white gives me so many more options at the thrift store. For our families clothing budget, the undershirts are a bit pricey, but I can then buy a variety of blouses or t-shirts at the thrift store (for just a few dollars each), and the layering will often make them work, modesty-wise. If the blouse has a loose neckline, or maybe is a bit too sheer, the undershirt can make it all work. I've also found some really nice skirts on Amazon and Etsy. I usually search for Maxi or circle skirt or something similar. Pairing the undershirt, a thrift store shirt, and often a new purchased skirt gives me modest outfits that don't require my own sewing. (I like sewing, I just don't make enough time for it.)
A recent favorite etsy shop for linen skirts is here:

She can also adjust the waistline, if needed.
