Cuisines from around the world!

We need a food poll.

Pick three types of cuisine you never had in its authentic form, but would like to try.

For example, I would like to try braised pig trotters, which is Korean I think. We have one authentic restaurant in the area, two hours away. Other than that, I'd have to fly to Korea to experience their street food. So yes, an authentic restaurant in your home county would qualify.

Obviously limited to ten options, so feel free to comment on something not listed.

Pakistan is another one I'd like to visit.

I have had Thai and Greek food in the US, which I like, but I suspect that they are probably not quite authentic. I'd like to try them in their real ethnic context. Lebanese I just voted for fun because it sounds interesting.

I can’t stand Pakistani rice… too many memories from aspirating gastric contents.

Don't they use Basmati rice or something? Its an extra long grain and has to be cooked different.

Lebanese is the only one in that list that I think I MAY not have tried already.

Never had Philippine food, or Turkish (but not sure about this last one). (Our children have very international tastes.)

Never had anything from Uzbekistan, or Iraq, or Iran. Egyptian. Croatian.

Both Saudi and Pakistani rice was the same grain, it was the sauce.
Saudi was tomato based I think and Pakistani was more like curry.

The wife, being half Filipino says the only food there worth eating is chicken adobo….everything else is pretty awful.

Not a fan of Jollibee? I don't live near any locations, and don't recall seeing any in my modest travels, but I've heard enough good things about Jollibee that I'd like to try it sometime.

A relative of mine who's lived in several countries and travelled widely says that Lebanon had the best food, hands down. I had an extremely good meal at a Lebanese restaurant once.

I voted for French, Spanish, and Turkish food.
