Our schools are off for two weeks. Public schools are offering boxed lunch and breakfast to their students. Church was cancelled last Sunday and I just got an email that mid-week activities are cancelled (most of them).
Local stores have not had toilet paper for days, paper towels and tissues are hard to come by. Ironically, the local bent-n-dent stores are sitting on skids of those commodities. Saturday, there was a shortage of regular whole milk. By Sunday, inventory was normal again.
I stopped at my local gun shop Saturday morning and the pistol case was basically empty. The long guns looked picked through as well. Not sure what ammo inventory was like for them.
Local restaurants and diners, if still open, are takeout, delivery or curbside pickup only.
My workplace has cancelled most meetings. We have sanitizer stations almost everywhere. Some employees are wearing latex gloves.
My coronavirus meltdown thread
Re: My coronavirus meltdown thread
I have had to work at home and home school my kids for years because of this. Yes, as prepper, I knew it was coming and started 6 years ago. I also stock piled food because we only went to the grocery store every 2 weeks.
I even wore gloves last weekend when I was loading up all our stuff in northern Michigan with 1 foot of snow on the ground.
I was quite disappointed that the Governor of Indiana took until Monday to close in dining eating establishments. If he would have done that Friday, it would have saved me $100. Yet, if he closes Menard's, I may be taking up arms. I got a $375 rebate coupon and I plan on using it.

People are paying more to ship a bag of beans than the beans actually cost.

You mean I should be buying beans, rice and lentils and stock piling them?
We have plenty of food in the freezers and home canned foods.

Yes, but plan ahead - you’ll want to stockpile TP along with all those beans and lentils.Somebody wrote:You mean I should be buying beans, rice and lentils and stock piling them?

And your company's truck has finally arrived with our order. I'm guessing it's a real madhouse in there.steve-in-kville wrote:Our schools are off for two weeks. All free citizens are asked to shelter in place/self-prison; prisoners are allowed to go free.
