This is a common practise on the street where I live here in Leamington, Ontario, Canada. We enjoy our occasional snow falls and often get out during the night to help each other shovel snow. There are some good hearted folks that even though they are not yet Christians, they enjoy doing good works.

Canada, a great country !!!!

yes, Sudsy.
these are the kinds of well-adjusted, law-abiding, tax-paying, hard-working, good-hearted, neighbor-helping citizens for whom Trudeau has no tolerance. zero tolerance. these are diverse legal citizens he relies on everyday, personally, and for all of Canada. “off with their heads!” (it’s A-ok when libs say it/do it.)

these are the ordinary apolitical people who “do the heavy lifting” that makes the world function - they’re rarely found in headlines.

did you notice several news videos on your linked page feature convoy topics? (“trending”)
i have not opened. considering the source, i anticipate heavy lib-nationalistic criticism: “a great country!” - as long as you submit to AND embrace our chosen narrative.

don’t take it personally. it seems this is the lib way, no matter which country.

My view is we can chose to see the glass to be half full (positive) or half empty (negative). Whatever is going on in this world, scripture tells us to focus on the good wherever we can find it and there is always good to be found. Philippians 4:8.

We are also told to - 'Give to everyone what you owe them: Pay your taxes and government fees to those who collect them, and give respect and honor to those who are in authority.' To me, this includes a Trudeau, a Trump and even a Putin if I am living under their authority in their country.

Yes, sadly headlines seldom will reflect what a Christian should spend their time thinking about. But that is because that this world is currently being run by people that have not been born again. They are just being and doing what they are inside. It is important though how we regard them. I can look down on them for their ways of sinning or I can pray for them, even respect and honor them in the positions they have been given and turn the other cheek when they 'slap me in the face' by their actions. I can look upon them with compassion or with disdain.

I think of Jesus when they were about to stone the woman caught in adultery. He said that 'whoever is without sin, let them throw the first stone.' And they all had to walk away. I'm thinking more and more that is the response we are to be having on the events happening in this world. Jesus was without sin and He alone could 'cast the first stone'. None of us are in this boat of sinless perfection.

Seems to me the easy way is for us to join worldly thinking in their battles. Take sides that so often result in division amongst professing believers. I think this happens when we lose Jesus outlook on humanity. The one where He said 'Father forgive them for they know not what they do.' To be like Jesus (who took far more harm than any of us could ever be confronted with), should we not be mostly known for our compassion for all sinners ? He left us with the Holy Spirit who is our source of power to actually be able to think and act towards others with compassion.

No, I didn't look at the other articles in that link. I don't doubt there is some very negative stuff. My searching was for something positive here in Canada to, in some way, combat the heavy negative things that get so much coverage on this forum. We live in a very flawed world but we can be in it and not of it. Like Paul and Silas in jail, they rose above the situation and sang songs of praise. And look what happened. I see this as something to think about.

Anyway, don't you take this personally either but I felt I needed to share what is on my mind especially when the short comings of our countries leaders are being looked upon with so much disdain. They are just people like us all and need to be born again and become new creatures in Christ Jesus. Whether they be liberal or conservative or anything in-between they need forgiveness and a new heart as 'they know not what they do' is how Jesus put it.

More or less proving that all the reasons he gave just days earlier for it being needed were lies. Seriously folks. You cannot make this stuff up.

Enough has been revealed to reflect what’s afoot just under the surface.
i’ll venture to guess: ‘Way-way more than the truck drivers imagined.

Best of all, all those Bibles in circulation! :D

He did so after serious Senate pressure and earlier said he planned to use the full 30 days.

Citizens should not have to fear living under a police state. And many people’s bank accounts are still frozen.

Pretty sure Josh is correct. The senate wasn't too pleased to need to vote on this, being given no documentation since it was all a secret, and all for an emergency they couldn't see.

Yes, and now what I understand is that there will be a full parliamentary review of his actions within 60 days as the law requires. So they will get their chance to review everything and pass judgement. Legislative oversight is a key function of democracies. Hopefully they will do their job.
