How do I make it my default group ?
Try again. I found another setting that needed to be adjusted so you can.
When I try to make it my default group it does say that it already is my default group yet the Politics forum still shows in the Home screen.

Likewise. I can still see the politics section even though I chose No Politics.
By the by, I like the idea of being able to block politics.

i like the idea, too.
but i would miss posts by appleman, mike, oj, GaryK, Robert, Grace, Honduras Keiser, Wayne, PetrC, Valerie, Joy, and others. they aren’t the most frequent posters, but i would not want to miss their observations. a lot of perspective from devoted Christians in varied locations/circumstances.

Assuming the permissions are the same, you could simply have anyone who wants to, to remove the registered users group. That likely would fix it as the view is likely the same as having mod status which supersedes the prior permission group but doesn't remove the prior permissions.

I think I got it. Try it again.

I don't think you have to set it as default group. I think that it is working without that step now. You can join and you can resign from the group at will.

Well done, Robert. I do not see the Political section at all now. We are very much grateful.

Thank you again, Robert. The new filter works very well.

2 Timothy 2:23-26

23 Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. 24 And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil, 25 correcting his opponents with gentleness. God may perhaps grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth, 26 and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the devil, after being captured by him to do his will.
