I encourage you to use the "foe" function. It is likely to substantially improve your experience here.

Re: For Catholic & E. Orthodox: The Immaculate Conception

Post by JayP »

This website is supposed to be about anabaptism.

Why do you need some folks that are here to explain the immaculate conception?

Go google. There are plenty of authoritative Catholic material for you to read online.

What you want, is some Catholic or Orthodox person, who is not the best spoken or debater, to Ofer up fodder for you to refute.
I have no interest in explaining anything about Catholics (or anything) when it is simply debate fodder for folks like you.

Frankly, I find far too much conversation about Catholicism on this website. Again, the incidental open question is always well received.
I know of no one with connections to the Orthodox or RCC that comes here is interested in trying to convince anyone to convert.

You say "not to get into politics and then you get into politics.
This is not a political thread. It's in the General Theology forum. We're discussing theological and personal reasons for non-denom popularity.
I think it’s reasonable to observe that the non-denominational denomination has a very strong political bias.
If you want to discuss politics, do so in the politics section per forum rules. This is a politics free thread.
Are non-denominational seminaries and groups free of politics? It would appear not; for example, Union Theological Seminary is non-denominational, yet staked out quite political positions such as becoming a "sanctuary seminary":

https://utsnyc.edu/blog/2017/04/10/unio ... -seminary/
Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York continues to speak out against the Trump Administration’s xenophobic anti-immigrant policies, issuing a third official statement since the US Presidential Election of November 2016. While the two previous statements expressed condemnation and concern, today’s statement declares Union as a “Sanctuary Seminary” and charts clear measures the 181-year-old seminary is prepared to take to ensure the safety and success of its students, faculty, staff, and community members.

I'm not discussing politics. I'm discussing non-denominational seminaries.

Non-denominational seminaries appear to be quite politically involved.

That's a new one to me too.
