Chili poll

A pondering on that wonderful meal of meals called chili. Vote for any or all options if that's what floats your crackers.

I prefer not to hot and spicy, and not too much tomato.

i chose all 10.
i’m not sure i’ve met a chili i don’t like.

even canned. which i barely count as chili. it’s “something” like chili. :?
even cold. i can deal with it. canned with turkey sausage is a surprising product. vegetarian, too.

i have some favs. my daughter’s chili is usually great. not complicated, flavorful.
i’m not competitve with spices. flavor is more important than intestinal fortitude.

i like sausage in the mix, hot sausage is good.
generous onions and garlic.
black beans added in.
corn.

I had chili in a Mexican restaurant once. I mean, actually in Mexico. It wasn't much more than chopped-up chili peppers. That wasn't savory enough to be great, but mixed it with other dishes.

To be good, though, chili needs a significant proportion of chili peppers. Not too many ghost peppers, though--I'm getting older.

I make a big batch of chili every year using my own recipe that includes ground venison, red beans, white beans, diced tomatoes from a can, onions and other spices. Put it in jars and pressure can. All that needs to be done is heat it up and we have a quick and easy meal. Sometimes we top the chili with mashed potatoes and shredded cheese or eat it with toast.

I like it all those ways. Vegetarian is also good, with beans but no meat - I didn't see that option.

I like mine spicy, my wife does not.

Chipotles are nice ...

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.
