Ervin Stutzman passed away yesterday after a long fight with cancer. I knew Ervin because he was the dean of Eastern Mennonite Seminary when I was a student and he was my preaching professor. Ervin was also the former moderator of MCUSA and author of several fictionalized books about his family’s Amish history.
I’m mentioning it here because I imagine that some of you might know him or be aware of him.

I’m sad to hear that. I learned recently that Ervin was baptized at Center Amish Mennonite, an influential Beachy congregation.

Sorry to hear this.
I did not know him well, but had opportunity to hear him preach about 35 years ago, when we lived in Birmingham, Alabama.
He was a guest speaker in one of the LMC Mennonite church plants.
His example of following and preaching Jesus will live on.
