Dinner Guests

If you were to prepare a dinner party for three invited guests, and you were able to invite anyone, past, present, famous, not so famous, anyone, who would you invite, and why?

Augustine, so I could explain the consequences of "City of God" in hopes he might amend it.

Barnabas, the quiet hero of the New Testament.

The English house wife who started the sugar boycotts that eventually brought down the English slave trade.

My first thought was the parable in which the servants were instructed to go out into the by ways and bring in strangers. I’d follow that instruction hoping to share Christian hospitality and the Gospels.

Great question. I need to ponder this a bit.

Jesus, Nicoli Tesla, and I need to think about the third. Might be Elon Musk. If I got those three together, I am curious of how the world would change.

Jesus obviously. I’d be happy to omit the others just so to have more time for Jesus. But the other two would be Muhammad, and Aksapada Gautama. I had to look up who the founder of Hinduism was, apparently it’s not very clear. But Aksapada Gautama was an influential early one, so that’s why I put him in there.

I’d like to have the two largest false religions derailed. The purpose would be that millions would be spared from being deceived. Of course there’s no guarantee that Muhammad or Aksapada Gautama would listen to Jesus, after all, many did not listen to Jesus.

I’m having a hard time narrowing it down to 3 & the right combination of the 3.

There are 2 pastors I really look up to that I would love to hear their life/spiritual journey & be able to ask questions- and these 2. Pastors are from completely different backgrounds. Would love to hear them reason together, their faith- I love them dearly and what I know of their lives causes me to want to hear more -
It would be interesting to have one of my dear Orthodox priest friends too and the hope would be a meeting of hearts & minds to enjoy hearing how God had led them & guided them. I would just want to serve & listen.

If a more family guest situation, my two grandmothers who passed in the 80’s and hear more about their entire lives which they never really shared but I know went through some very hard times, & one who left her family in Canada when she was a young wife- we are clueless about her whole family in Canada as well as my grandpa I never knew- I have questions!

I was a guest with Joy on the forum at a former missionary at his daughter’s and that meal meant so much to me to hear how God worked in and through their lives decades in Brazil. It really was meaningful! Would love to have them & Joy to serve & hear more of Gods work.

Not sure which dinner I’d want to happen more as they would have different purposes. I guess each would be unique & a great blessing so hard to narrow it down to 3!
Interesting question!
