Is anyone else sewing face masks?

Can you find elastic? They are saying there is none to be found.

I believe Goods Store has plenty. The nurse I talked to, though, said elastic hurts her ears and she would prefer ties. I am only showing masks for our own family as I have not heard of anybody actually using the ones that have been sewn.

I would do then headband button thing although it would look absurd on a guy. Maybe you could sew buttons to a beanie instead.

Personally I wear my mask bandanna style, but apparently that requires a large nose, with which I am greatly “blessed”.

I have a decent collection of face masks, if these qualify.

I got elastic on Etsy. I made some for a niece who asked some of her aunts to make them for workers at the hospice she works for. Made some for my daughter- she asked for ties only with opening large enough to put a separate barrier in plus a place to put metal in for the nose. She is a vet and they are required to wear them at her place of work. Made some for a few women at church who are in health care, at their request. Not making to make. Also made for ourselves.

my girls used some elastic hair bands for thick hair. and it worked out well.

I have also heard of people using Dollar Store elastic headbands and just cutting them. cheap and easy.

Hopefully there will be no backlash for her.

My work actually uses home made masks... My wife made mine and I prefer ties, but its with elastic. I like it with the elastic since I can have it hang around my neck without having to adjust the ties.

Its worthless in my eyes for protection for me but if I was a "silent" carrier it likely would reduce the risk to my patients.
