How far is your commute?

This is a highly underappreciated factor. Too many of us are trying to live the life of a 20th century farmer *and* the life of a 21st century industrial or service worker, simultaneously. It doesn't work very well.
Is your commute about the right length?

I voted 30-45 minutes. It is 15 minutes from my house to the parking area on a good day, but the traffic can be a bear, so I allow more, and then about 15 minutes walking from parking area to building. All in all, it takes about 40 minutes from my door to my desk.

I had to pick 3 options. Most days I work from home. Sometimes I go into a rented office for my side business that is a few minutes from home to co-work with my colleagues there. Sometimes I go into our regional office which is an hour away. Sometimes I go to the head office, which is a 10 hour flight away. Sometimes I go to a client, the next one of which right now is typically in NYC, the last one of which was in Atlanta.

Perhaps this explains some of the hustle and bustle.

Josh, you’ve piqued my interest. What is it that you do?

I mostly work at my desk downstairs so no commute. My farthest client is about an hour every three weeks.

Josh, I have also wondered what you do?

About a 2 minute walk if I take my time.

 I guess if your commute is 46-59 minutes you’ll just have to mark other.

Remember from the rumor from the Journalism or Gossip thread?
Josh works for a government agency. (Typically FBI.) He is working to entrap Mennonites for tax fraud or other financial misdeeds.
Makes perfect sense to me. :laugh :laugh

I’m not sure how to explain what I do. I’m a “consultant” and “architect”.
