The worse tragedy is that in spite of growing up in a Christian family, school, and church, he was living an ungodly life, and encouraging others to do the same, through his counseling practice. Please pray for the family, and that God's purposes will be fulfilled
Wow. I’m sorry.

Mike I’m sorry to hear that. We’ll pray for both her and those who are caring for her.

My mom passed way yesterday. Five weeks ago, she experienced cardiac arrest following a pulmonary embolism. She was resuscitated by EMTs at the scene, but she never really recovered. She had been becoming weaker and weaker presumably from the cancer and from the chemo, and she just couldn’t come back from the cardiac arrest. Couldn’t successfully get off the vent, and even after putting in a trachea tube, she couldn’t breathe on her own. Developed internal bleeding due to being in blood thinners, which they could reverse, but only by putting her back at risk of more blood clots. There was no way forward, and her kidneys failed as well as other problems. Still, she lived a week after being taken off life support. It was a relief to finally have her pass into the next life after such intense suffering.

I'm sorry for your loss. Not easy to lose a loved one but thankful she is no longer suffering and in the arms of our Lord.

None of us want to let our loved ones go, but in our experiences living in the remote Banawa village, where there are no trained medical specialists anywhere near, people pass away due to things that would be prevented from bringing immediate death in our industrialized society. One elderly man had experienced a severe stroke, and when we arrived back in the village we prayed for him, but didn't expect to see him alive again when we came back the next time. But he actually recovered, continued hunting and fishing, etc. for some years after that.

You didn't say how long the doctors expected your mom to live at that last stage, but in my dad's case (advanced Alzheimer's), they said up to 3 weeks. He died after 'only' three days. Our sure hope in Christ has led me to say (assuming she knew Jesus) "I'm sorry for you, but glad for your mom." She now awaits the resurrection, along with all of the other saints of God. (I have a bunch of people over there already.)

Mike, I feel sorrow for your loss, that is a road I haven't traveled yet. My prayer is your family can grieve the losses and still "sorrow not as others who have no hope."

It’s hard to watch loved ones suffer, it can be shocking how much pain can be endured, and for how long, before passing.
Not our choice. Circumstances vary so much! Without “order” as our minds understand.

i miss my mother everyday. it doesn’t go away. we live with holes in our hearts.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

I’m truly sorry for your loss Mike, may you all be comforted by the Holy Spirit and the vision of her with the Father & Son at His right hand & the many she was welcomed by. I do not look forward to to letting my Mom go when that day comes-
