Since Saturday I've been on the phone and the computer communicating with my contacts in the hierarchy and other laity. We knew in our heart of hearts this was coming for a few years but had no real evidence until some brave and honest men stepped up and opened up. There are good men in our hierarchy; but in good conscience they needed witnesses and evidence before pursuing this. Now they have it, they can. Purification and suffering are good for the soul of the individual and for the Church. Homosexuality is an abomination. Abuse is inexcusable. Period.
I think I'm over my allotted gigs and minutes for this month and there's still two more days. Time to take a break.
Human failure/sin, infiltrates all groups of religious people, including Mennonites, Baptists, Methodists, Pentecostals, Lutherans and other Protestant denominations, as well as the Roman Catholic Church. I won't be surprised at any finger pointing that goes on from either side of the isle.
The bad part of it is the destruction of the testimony before the world.
For me, this is a premium opportunity to deeply grasp, sin, commiting crimes, affects ALL, it does not remain confined. It spreads outward, hurting the innocent, sometimes for generations-forward.
Why does God allow innocents to suffer because of sins of others? -
Possibly the single greatest deterrent to sin+crime is knowing our loved ones, innocent family, friends, community, churches, will pay the high prices right along with us.
i loathe to think what crimes i might have commited, had i not had this added consciousness.
Honestly, i cannot say what i might have been tempted to do. Can anyone?
The “unfair” burden on innocents is allowed by God.
i think mankind must be quite careful when attempting to interfere with it.
So much wrong is done with the “best intentions.” God always knows better than we do.
This manifests in the smallest ways, to the largest.
But, small or large indiscretion, God’s laws apply. What could be more “fair?”
Even better, small or large, God’s offer for salvation is one and the same.
Confess. Repent. Submit. Obey.
Human nature fights+complicates that which cannot be improved.
i know it very well. even at “my age,” it’s a daily struggle. it is tiring.
Thank you, God, for your simplicity. Forgive my wanton nature that fights it.
