Well, first you have to explain typewriters to that generation.

By the time I was doing serious typing, correction tape and correction fluid had been invented. Along with interchangeable ribbon cartridges, where you would pop the black one out and put in the white one to correct mistakes, or the red one if you were

And then along came computers where the backspace key did the deletion. But old habits die hard sometimes.

How can you tell when a blonde has been using the computer?
By the whiteout on the monitor.

Her mother has an old manual typewriter, probably 1930’s, she keeps for decorative value, so Ms GenZ has an idea about the things.
The eraser threw her.

Maybe i’ll try to locate some carbon paper to see what that does to her. :P

She'd do a double take on that.

Wife: got the AC unit replaced. The company actually also tore out a bunch of the old wood and basically rebuilt the cabinet. It took a little bit for it to get down to temperature last night (starting point was 88°) and at some point yesterday evening, my preschooler decided push up a chair to mess with the touchscreen and put it to heat, etc., but it was nice this morning to come out to the house in the low 70s.

Now, all we need to do is go by Home Depot and install a thermostat lockbox. No idea who thought it was a good idea to have a shiny touchscreen style thermostat without setting locking capability.

I'm glad yall's AC is working again. Preschooler working a touchscreen is amazing. I guess us adults over think those things when preschoolers just run off of intuition.

Robert wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 10:34 am Thought it might be a relaxing weekend, but I watched Operation Toussiant on Prime Video this morning.
Story of Tim Ballard and Operation Underground Railroad. They work to rescue children from human trafficking. Pretty heavy stuff. This country is quite sick. The US is the major purchaser of trafficked children. Lord, come quickly.
Another very heavy documentary is "Line in the Sand" where James O'Keefe follows immigrants from Mexico to the U.S. The little 10-year-old girl with those big brown eyes, and traveling alone, breaks my heart. From 2021 to 2024 it only got far worse, as the open borders have caused the U.S. to become the largest, human, sex and drug trafficker in the world. And it was pure evil.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt33829507/
It was behind a paywall, so I never got to see it. I would like to watch it.
^^i haven’t watched these films, but i don’t want to forget about them.
i’m afraid to watch. the reported numbers make my head hurt without further details.

There have been reports out of various European countries for years about young girls assaulted in public places, and more atrocities. This is a short video on U.K.:

“250,000 Victims / What's In This Report Will Make You Sick” / 18min

Again, it’s the SCALE and reach that stupefies me.
As well, the ENABLING and protection of perpetrators (that invited the crimes).

Horrifying twists of human reasoning.

Wife: I learned today that if you wait long enough to renew Walmart plus, they will eventually make it half off for you. I got spoiled by being able to get free shipping without a minimum even though I could still do curbside pick up. I hate going in there with all my crew.

ha.
i’ve never had plus, my doctor wants me out shopping - out, doing whatever. keep moving!

on some sites, for example, Land’s End, and ebay, if i put an item in the cart, but do not purchase, often, i’ll get an email offer for a discount for that item, or some type of incentive to buy.

we are being watched!

just the opposite for air travel!
i try not to even look for flights until i know my plans, ‘cause, if i see an attractive price but don’t purchase right then, when i return, the price will increase, $50-200. :-|

American Airlines often, not always, has an option to RESERVE a flight for 24 hours without paying.
i appreciate it, i often need to coordinate plans with family.

Also, when you pay for the flight, AA allows 24 hours to cancel with refund, no questions asked.

i don’t know policies of other airlines.

i enjoy seeing young families shopping with wiggly ones.

24-hour cancellation or hold is a US DOT requirement, as long as it's at least 7 days before the flight.
