Today .. wasps love hot weather.

Got a call from a church friend who is asking for donations for families who had their homes burned by wildfires in the southeast. There’s fires all over and I hear some really bad ones in south Georgia. An animal rescue ranch successfully evacuated all of the animals. I know some of our local fire departments are sending help in fighting them.
Asking prayers for the folks in the middle of all that and prayers for the drought to be broken that’s fueling the fires.

That seems a bit high. $3.85 for regular and $4.99 for diesel in North Canton (or $3.79 for E88 which I like to get at Sheetz).

This is the Marathon on 39, just east of town. Last week gasoline was 4.299. Went up 50 cents in one shot. Hopefully it will go back down.

i’m not driving today. i can see it’s windy. hazy, visibility isn’t bad at all.

we get all manner windy+wild weather conditions, including area tornadoes, dust storms are not common.
i’ve driven in dust storms, and, once, bad smoke from (controlled) field fires .. it’s unpleasant.

worrying about drivers crashing into you from behind is a primary fear. whether due to slowed or stopped traffic.

when you can’t see, you can’t see. whether due to fog, blizzards, dust or smoke.

all that dust - i suppose it’s made up of tons of top soil, fertilizers, farm chemicals.
crops may be just starting.

Today ..
has been a quiet Mother’s Day ..

one sister died last fall, this is her children’s first Mother’s Day without her.
my nephew texted early this morning.

Mother’s Day is often a day of memories including bittersweet memories.

When my mother+grandmothers were living, it was such a busy day, as was Father’s Day.

God willing, life is about change.

More like the last 4 today’s I been replacing the bathroom floors in the main level of the house. I found some better quality vinyl tiles in my wife’s favorite lighter blues. They match the blue sinks and the bathtubs. Then I’m repainting the walls white to match the wall tiles. It’s going to take me another week to do both bathroom floors. My back aggravates me if I’m at it too long. I’ll always be the tortoise and not the hare when doing projects.

Finished the floor in one bathroom. Doing those special cuts around the toilet and the sink are bears. My knees and the rest of me feel like I wrasseled one.
