A lot of contractors will just fix a problem like that because they don't want the reputation that they did stuff like kick a rock that broke a widow lady's glass door and then didn't fix it for her. I certainly wouldn't. The cost of one $1,500 repair across doing dozens of yards a week is not a huge hit to the bottom line.

A contractor wouldn't turn in a $1,500 claim to their insurer's E&O or PD / GL either since that will definitely cause an increase in their insurance costs (probably more than $1,500). You just pay it as part of the cost of doing business.

Once I called AAA who sent someone out to help me get my keys out of my car which were locked in it. In doing so the window shattered. The guy who did it insisted on taking care of it himself and picked an auto glass place to get it repaired it that did a fine job and he just paid the auto glass place directly. That's a lot less trouble for him than trying to deal with insurance, getting his employer or prime contractor to pay for it (and possibly getting fired), etc.

Doc told me today that my right knee is bone on bone. My left knee isn’t that far behind. We’re in the process of deciding how-when-where we want to do the replacements.
Prayers would be appreciated.

Both knees! praying.
We had a young friend, in his 20’s, that had 1 knee replaced.
He did very well. He was careful and followed instructions for rehab.

I had to look that one up  When I first read it I thought what in the world does a mirror have to do with my knees? I thought it was some kind of fancy new kind of mirror.
Most likely my knees went out from climbing 3 flights of steps multiple times at work. That and everything around here is uphill both ways.

I heard one around here a long time ago when the Episcopalians ordained a “married” homosexual as a Bishop.
Do you know why Episcopalians can’t play chess? They can’t tell the difference between a bishop and a queen.

The case of Vicky Gene Robinson is an interesting one; he divorced his wife in 1986, and then...
In November 1987, Robinson met his partner, Mark Andrew, while on vacation in St. Croix. Andrew worked in Washington, D.C., at the national office of the Peace Corps. On July 2, 1988, Robinson and Andrew moved into a new house in Weare, New Hampshire and had it blessed by Bishop Douglas E. Theuner, an event which they considered to be the formal recognition of their life together. The couple were legally joined in June 2008 in a private civil union ceremony in St. Paul's Church, Concord. Earlier, Robinson had said, "I always wanted to be a June bride." Robinson and Andrew divorced in 2014.
He was ordained a deacon in 1973 and then upgraded to bishop around 2003/2004. In other words, regardless of one's views on same-sex marriage, the Episcopalians were perfectly comfortable ordaining people living in sin.

And all that trouble to just end up "divorced" in 2014.
