Went to the Dallas Farmer's Market to meet my sister and niece from PA. Was a great visit. I didn't buy anything. Everything was way too expensive.

As one who sells at a farmers' market, I hope you realize that most of those who sell there probably aren't even making minimum wage if you count all the work that goes into what they sell.

At $6 a dozen for eggs, they may not be making anything.

Today ..
New water softener to be installed. :D

i began noticing water leaks on the floor (in the garage, no harm done) .. not a lot, it would dry up, then return.
the unit was in the house when i moved here, 17 years ago. it seems like yesterday. at that time, the salt provider did some work on it, it’s lasted all this time.

i called, was told the unit was original from the 1960’s! is that even possible? maybe 1970.
it looks it. but has worked.
that’s getting your money’s worth!

i’ll rent the new unit. $22/mo.
i have a couple of small accounts nearly paid, it won’t “feel like” an added expense.
the cost is $1500+, i’m not sure i’ll be here that much longer. monthly “forever” sounds ok. :?

after the sticker shock, i’m looking forward to the new unit.
i’m told it should work better, easier, be more fuel efficient.

we’ll see.

o.and. after lots of hot weather, and stormy weather, today is a lovely mild summer day for the men to work. :D
i was hoping for that.

Did two weeks go. They baptized 180 this time. Not a big fan of their process. Mega church of a quite affluent group.

We are on to Fish Camp now. 1000 Texas A&M Freshman at a time come for a 3 day visit. We do it for 6-7 sessions. A&M runs their own program. We just provide facilities.

and, another change. maybe it’s my macular hole playing tricks on me.

Today .. sadly, i learned of a dear first cousin who passed in May, after years battling cancer.
i was away, recovering from a broken foot. i didn’t hear. Thankfully, his wife has close family+friends.

My younger brother was close to him, esp after our father+older brother died.
He’s taking it pretty hard. i’m glad we had the years we did. He was a good man.

Today ..
my son+his wife are in flight to Hawaii with friends, one friend from childhood with his wife!

i’m so happy for them, esp that they are going.
a few weeks ago my son was so upset worrying about me (my eye surgery, etc.) he wanted to cancel the trip.
he would do this!! imho, overly conscientious.

thankfully, they’re in the air. aloha.
