April is also Fresh Florida Tomato Month. I guess since a National Tomato Month (October) is not enough.
Is there any ethnic cuisine that does not have tomatoes?
I don’t know. Big Tomato has probably genocide them all by now.

My impression of Brazilian food is that they eat a lot of beefsteak and not much else.

Perhaps Native Alaskans do not eat tomatoes in their cuisine.

Yeah, if you go to a Churrascaria, you'll want to eat just meat, for two reasons - the stuff that's not cooked might make you sick, and it's also very expensive, and the meat is where the most cost it. But most Brazilians eat a lot of rice and beans, and feijoada, which is black beans with "pig parts". In the north of Brazil, farinha (manioc meal) is a favorite - my favorite kind being farinha da agua. In Minas Gerais cheeze is the big favorite (other than beef). There's a joke about a Mineiro (a person from MG) who found a magic bottle, and was give three wishes by the genie from the jar. For his first two wishes, he chose cheese. On the third time, he pondered it for awhile, then finally said he wanted a pretty girl. The genie asked him why he waited until the third wish to ask for the pretty girl. "Eu tinha vergonha de pedir outro queijinho." ("I was ashamed to ask for another cheese.")

Today .. in the wee hours ..
i learned there is no 24 hour pharmacy in my county, not even at hospitals. Not at Walgreens, Walmart, or other (even tho google reports several). Don’t trust google. Even for simple things.

i eventually spoke with a Patient Advisory Nurse who asked a number of questions then advised ER. about 20 miles.
It was an uneventful drive in, clear weather, full moon. i got there at 1am, home with antibiotics by 6am.
Dental infection. Dentists don’t have “on call” dentists for after hours. The ER staffed LAUGHED when i said i didn’t know.

i was told the pandemic removed our 24 hour pharmacies, and greatly reduced pharmacy hours.

In the hours waiting, i thought about last week’s tornado, life can be quizzical.
The staff said they got some folks in from the tornado. No serious injuries. Vehicles overturned on the highway. One bus overturned.

My nurse was a great big Viking type guy complete with a red beard. Competent and efficient, friendly.
His ancestors would be pleased.

He should have asked for a pretty girl who can make cheese. :)

And in case anyone is unaware, beefsteak is also a variety of tomato.

Just wait until the ER starts limiting their hours. One of them in my area is only open 12:00 am to 12:00 am every day. Tough luck if you're not there at the stroke of midnight I guess.
