Heavy! I delete the account AND the posts!! Well, usually one post in Russian or links to odd and end junk.
Most assuredly, Sir Robert, thou must have been well supplied with a healthy cache of Holy Hand Grenades from Antioch.

Got a call from a former prisoner whom I wrote for seventeen years. He's married now, got a good job, and a close relationship with his church family. His unsaved sister is renting his house across the street, and one of the provisions for her staying in the house is church attendance, which is easy for him to monitor. She's tried excuses to get out of it, but having been behind bars, he knows them all. :D

This morning .. a mouse scurried across the floor in front of me. :-|
The great surprise is .. this is the first mouse i’ve seen in this house. 15 years?!

It was very fast. It appeared larger than the little field mice i’ve had to rarely deal with in the past.
i really don’t want to think of that 3-letter rodent word. :-|

It was still dark. i haven’t seen it since. it vanished.

i’ll get some kind of trap today. will appreciate suggestions. :)
wishing i had a cat right now.

thanks. i have peanut butter.
i plan to buy sticky traps today.

years ago, we successfully used sticky traps in a storage unit. i dread it in my house. :(
my garage is attached. i’m hoping, after i get rid of this one (i hope it’s one) - traps in the garage will do.

sticky traps in the garage will be ok. they catch spiders, too.

i credit owls for keeping me rodent-free all these years.

i ordered this. it will take awhile to arrive:

I think the sticky traps are cruel. If you have to trap and kill an animal, at least try to make it as humane as possible instead of sticking the animal in glue and letting it die of thirst and starvation.

I've given the glue trapped mouse to the cats. Hold on to the trap while they pull the mouse off. Once the trap slipped from my fingers and the cat ran off with the trap & mouse. Later found her with the trap stuck to the cat. We pulled the cat off the trap.

the whole thing is grisly business. i cringe if i have to swat a fly or mosquito. i set out 2 sticky pads, i’m not sure what i’ll do if they catch anything. the other type of trap will be here in a couple of weeks.

ok. so, there are ways to put them out of their misery. we’ll see what the night brings. my neighbors have cats. maybe a neighbor could whack (it/them). i don’t think i could. if i got into a fight with a mouse, he would probably win. even stuck in a trap! i have no confidence.

my father wanted to toughen me up, i think he decided i was hopeless. i would make pets out of everything, crickets, crawdads, garden snakes, chickens, anything that moved.

i haven’t seen or heard a thing all day. i’m hoping this was my imagination and nothing’s there. :?

It’s hard to believe a good-sized mouse could be in my house and not be seen or heard, at all.
