Last evening made an additional 6 pints of freezer jam from local strawberries I found at a market.

Love seeing all the different varieties of tomatoes listed. Have never heard of many of them, have tried others.
Have lemon boy this year and a new one to me- High mountain I believe the name is. Plus a black/red cherry and have to get that name and write it in my notebook for future reference. I no longer start my own, don't grow enough for all the work

We bought one called Carbon this year. Black tomatoes, apparently very tasty.

We started all our tomatoes in mini greenhouses this year, as well as most of the rest of them. We used 1 gal water or milk jugs, drilled drainage holes in the bottom, cut it in half except for a 'hinge' at the handle. Planted seeds and set them outside. Started the hardy seeds in Jan & Feb and the tender plants in Mar & Apr. The plants are hardened off and much stockier then what I started in the house or greenhouse. We're going to do that again next year!

This morning I did my yearly haircut, removing over half my hair. As I cut it, I was singing this old song from my youth to myself:

I’ve had great results with grape tomatoes, just plants off the shelves at any shop. Patio containers, too. They need support.

They ripen quickly, are sweet to eat off the vine, sweet to halve and use on salads/sandwiches. Multiple crops over the summer and fall.

Today we were on day three of garden planting.

I am sore. My oldest told me that she is sore too...that made me feel better...I thought I was just feeling "old" LOL.

I will be very curious to know what lemon boy tastes like? I wonder if it will have a lemony taste?

No it is more about lemon color than taste. It is a lemon yellow tomato so less acid. But no lemon taste what so ever
