www.craigslist.com can be useful.
i prefer finding someone to do occasional tilling rather than buying, maintaining, storing a tiller.
also, tool rental places might help.

watch your back!

FYI, I would have left facebook if they were shutting down left/ progressive voices also.
So don't you till anymore? Too used?

Our former pastor (90) was laid to rest today, and he preached his own funeral sermon. Well, at least his granddaughter had recorded his last sermon sermon, and it was shown on the screen during the service. He was a sweet, faithful man, with a heart for bringing people to Jesus and shepherding them. He will be missed.

Today, we have sunshine after 3 days of snow, with not much accumulation. Been keeping bird feeders filled. Yesterday there were 5 cardinal pairs out there. So pretty to see their beautiful red coloring stand out from the snow.

We have a superabundance of cardinals here in our area. They are perhaps the most commonly seen bird. We enjoy them.

from when i was young, seeing red cardinals reminded me of my father. he had an auto body repair shop, he wore crisp grey work pants and usually red shirts, in winter, striking red flannel! my mother kept “the guys,” my father and two brothers, looking good in their clothing. clean+crisp.

i never grow tired of seeing Cardinals.

they have an easy call. i loved climbing trees, even as a teen! (i did not want to grow up.)
my elderly neighbor taught me how to whistle in return call with them. sometimes, our calls would last a long time. i could often spot them up in a tree or on a roof line, as we called back+forth. :)

they have some funny habits. like fighting with themselves in a car side mirror, or their reflection in a window. i’ve never had one “go after” me, like red-winged blackbirds or barn swallows.
but they passionately fight their own reflections.

I saw a pair of Bluebirds yesterday. It certainly is unusual to see them in this area this time of year.

My wife and I saw a flock of cardinals today at Point Pelee National Park. I dont recall seeing them in a flock prior to this. We normally have one pair live near us and I like whistling to them and feeding them black oil sunflower seeds. So beautiful. What a great Creator !

these kinds of sightings are sad. if there’s a cold snap, they may not last long.

i’m hoping to hear owls soon. altho my sleep is better now, i might not hear them at 3am.
