Were you with him?
No, my folks live in Oklahoma (a bit over 900 miles from here), and they had first told us that they were expecting it to be about 2 to 3 weeks, then it went down to 3 days. Waiting now for the schedule, so we know when to go. (Have to also be extremely careful, as our son is still in treatment for leukemia.)

Thank you. My main concern is now turned to my mom, who is now alone in the Care Home. (Dad was already in the memory care unit, a different part of the facility, but Mom was there with him every day.)

Praying for you and your family, and your mom. A difficult time. But then so is Alzheimer's.

Thank you for your prayers and concern. Yes, Alzeheimer's is probably the most cruel disease I have seen, although it isn't as painful physically as a lot of others. The amazing thing to me is that although it took his memories, recognition of family and friends, all knowledge of the past, it WAS NOT ABLE to take his love for our Lord and Savior, nor his desire to encourage others spiritually. This is truly astounding to me.

Dear Neto,

So sorry for you.

Prayers for special Holy Spirit comfort and wisdom for you and the family. Especially for your mother.
Also, prayers that the Message of salvation would greatly spread along with the news of your father's Homegoing.

Romans 8 came to my mind so strongly (some excerpts below from 8:31-39). In life and in death, all is well for us in Jesus.
That makes me glad for your dad and for all believers.

Dan

"In face of all this, what is there left to say?
If God is for us, who can be against us? He that did not hesitate to spare his own Son but gave him up for us all—can we not trust such a God to give us, with him, everything else that we can need?

Who would dare to accuse us, whom God has chosen?
The judge himself has declared us free from sin.

Who is in a position to condemn?
Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us!

Can anything separate us from the love of Christ?
Can trouble, pain or persecution? Can lack of clothes and food, danger to life and limb, the threat of force of arms?
No, in all these things we win an overwhelming victory through him who has proved his love for us.

I have become absolutely convinced that neither death nor life, neither messenger of Heaven nor monarch of earth, neither what happens today nor what may happen tomorrow, neither a power from on high nor a power from below, nor anything else in God’s whole world has any power to separate us from the love of God in Jesus Christ our Lord!"

On Sunday our church had a guest speaker who called himself a missionary to Baptists. I thought of you, Josh, if you're reading this. It answers a question you posed many moons ago. He and his wife were very well received.

Today I had my wisdom teeth removed.

Apparently, I tried to hit on my wife coming out of anesthesia and tried to sing to her. I have no memory of this.
