It’s been smoky, hazy for the past week or so.

Friends of mine are moving to northern Idaho, with a huge U-Haul and their pickup on a trailer behind. She sent me a text yesterday saying she'd just been through one of the scariest moments of her life, in high elevation, on a rain-slick road, one lane open, with snow making traction poor. I know they'd appreciate prayer for safe traveling.

The first snows, before drivers are used to winter driving, are extra-hazardous. Jack-knifing happens even to experienced drivers.

Prayers for their journey. :)

We’re rain-soaked, expected following hurricanes in the Gulf/Atlantic. (Hurricane Laura)

We survived our trip to Texas, but just barely. The Rona Raiders did not get us, but the AC went out on the drive down. Drive back was pretty balmy. Drove through the night, but caught the heat of the next day. It was Indiana heat instead of Texas heat, so better. Still 86 in the afternoon. Everyone else slept through it while I powered through and did a 20 hour solo drive.

Long haul. Several hours closer now, tho?
Glad you’re safely home.

Oh, wow. I tried driving through the night to Texas, not solo, and ran out of gas. A trucker stopped and said he'd send a cruiser for me, which he did. A young man had offered a one-way ride to a gas station, which I politely declined. Anyway, I think I learned my lesson about being not paying attention to the gauges!
