Our family consumes a lot of rice and the youtube vids make these look quite handy. I see there are combo cooker/steamers as well. Possible Christmas gift for the family (me)

How big of one do you have?RZehr wrote:Yes. We use ours often.
All day at least. Longer than you likely want your rice to hang out waiting. We have had one in the past but it was downsized to fit into a smaller kitchen.steve-in-kville wrote: If I understand correctly, they cook the rice and then go into a "warm" setting? How long can the rice stay in them?
That's sorta what we're after. Our family consumes a lot of rice if its readily available.barnhart wrote:All day at least. Longer than you likely want your rice to hang out waiting. We tried about all of them, and the family prefers just plain long grain white rice. Can a rice/bean pilaf be cooked in these things?mike wrote:Speaking of rice, since we have gotten hooked on using basmati rice we never use anything else. And from Sam's Club in the 20-pound bags it is reasonably priced, too.
