Cooking Help

Cooking is one thing Mennonites tend to be good at. But a whole lot of people don't cook these days.

What advice would you give to someone who lives alone and isn't all that good at cooking? Or do people have specific questions about meal planning, shopping, and cooking?

Nice idea Boot

Crockpot & cockpit cookbook. I read recently crockpot is a healthier way to cook- high heat is less healthy. One can throw the one pot meal together & its slowly cooking while at work. My daughter would put the meal together at night, refrigerate & pluv it in in the morning. It's nice to come home to. You really can't burn it, unless you acvifently set it on high instead of low

For those who like to read, I suggest a cookbook that gives a lot of space to helping people understand what they are doing. Although my Mom showed me a few things, I basically learned to cook in college by reading Adelle Davis's Let's Cook it Right. Joy of Cooking, or at least the classic editions, is also pretty good this way, but doesn't emphasize healthy food as much.
