What are you most thankful for?

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

I meant to respond to this yesterday. I’ve had a rough few years, with a lot of loss and starting over. The thing I’m most grateful for is that I’m finally starting to find my place in the world and it’s good.

Grace. Writer Ann Lamont says it's a churchy word that explains what happens when we reach the end of what we can do and are forced to throw in the towel but instead God injects purpose, strength and hope.

My wife and children.

A church family.

God's patience, mercy and grace and the gift of salvation.

My husband, my children and my grandchildren.

The godly parents we both had growing up.

Faith and family.

I am actually thankful for Mennonet peoples. Even the ones I disagree with often. I have grown to trust their sincerity. It is often hard to trust someone's sincerity that you disagree with. One example, but not to exclude others. Szdfan/Jeremy. I know when he posts that he is being honest and coming from a place of compassion and altruism. I may really disagree with some of the issues we discuss, but I know that we really agree on a whole lot we never talk about. I also know that if I ever asked, he would do anything he could to help me setting aside any disagreements.

I really value people like that. I know they are not just saying what I want to hear, but sharing what they think is beneficial for me.

My family.
we were talking at work on wednesday about the homeless guy found living in his van in the parking lot.

and I said, I know that my family would never allow my mom or me to be homeless. Even if it was just a room, we have a safety net that a lot of people don't have.

I'm thankful for my family and my church. And especially my wife. I am surrounded by loving, caring people.

I'm thankful for God's closeness. This has been a particularly difficult year, and God has been very present the whole time.

I'm thankful for the Christians I see showing God's love to refugees, people in crisis, people struggling with poverty. Or bringing God's message to people who are lonely or desperate or without meaning in their lives.

You know how sometimes someone posts something and you don't know how to respond? Thank you, Robert, I feel touched by your comments. I feel the same way.

I’ve been pondering this a few days because so many things came to mind I feel thankful that there’s much to be thankful for-
In a very personal way to say “most” thankful for the Lords presence and how He makes Himself known to me in big and small ways. No other “so-called” god can do this- He is ABBA Father! And the Lord’s long-suffering & mercy, He has been most patient, Jesus death is probably the very most I’m humbly thankful for because there is NO greater love, and if He be for us, who can be against us??

My family, husband, brothers & sisters in Christ mean so much. Then I consider there are many who know none of this- and hope never to take it for granted.
