Jeb Bush to Donald Trump at the 2016 debate.
"You're not going to be able to insult your way to the presidency."
Recently, (I think it was at the debate.) someone said basically the same think about/to Vivek. Anybody know who said that?
Anyhow, I'm wondering why anybody today would still say this after the last 7 years.
I am not defending the many insults exchanged by the current presidential candidates.
But why don't we go back over 40 some years, starting with racist insults.
Way back in 1977, the current president said that forced busing to desegregate schools would cause
his children to “grow up in a racial jungle.”
Or Assuming all Latin people are illegal. “Latinx” people don’t want to get vaccinated because they’re worried they’ll be deported".
Speaking about the World War II fighter pilots with a long, notorious governmental study of syphilis among black men—the Tuskegee Experiment.“They are used to being experimented on—the Tuskegee Airmen and others,”
On Charlamagne Tha God’s popular morning radio show in May 2020, Biden infamously asserted to the largely black audience that if they were unsure of whether to vote for him or Trump, then “you ain’t black!”
Then in August 2020, Biden told a gathering of black and Hispanic journalists that “unlike the African American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things.”
In 2007, referring to Barack Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.”
In 2006, “You cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”
September 2020, in a Hitleresque speech Biden insulted half the people in the country, say, "MAGA forces are determined to take this country backwards," and insinuated they are “fascists”.
The White House press secretary, the spokesperson for Biden, has called Republicans “semi-fascists”
Then there was the time Biden called a young college woman a “lying dog faced pony soldier”. More recently he called a reporter a “Son of a b@#&*”. .
And some insults aren't words flung around, but actions. Biden insulted Gold Star Families with out saying a word, when he looked at his watch as the blown up dead bodies of the 13 brave young service people, who died during his Afghanistan withdrawal debacle, were brought off the plane.
And one of the recent horrible disgusting insults was when Biden insulted the people of Maui whose loved ones, friends, neighbors and many children had just been burned to death. He compared their loss to him having a kitchen fire 20 years ago, almost losing his "67” corvette and his cat.
