Today on Truth Social, Trump claimed that he’s going to be arrested on Tuesday and called on his supporters to protest.
It seems odd that Trump is naming a specific day for this arrest, but this may be connected to the Stormy Daniels case. There’s been chatter over the past month that the Manhattan DA is about to indict Trump over the attempt to bribe Daniels prior to the 2016 election.
Prosecutors working for Mr. Bragg have signaled that an indictment of Mr. Trump could be imminent. But they have not told Mr. Trump’s lawyers when the charges — expected to stem from a 2016 hush money payment to a porn star — would be sought or an arrest made, people with knowledge of the matter said. At least one more witness is expected to testify in front of the grand jury, which could delay an indictment, the people said.
One of the people said that even if the grand jury were to vote to indict the former president on Monday, a Tuesday surrender was unlikely, given the need to arrange timing, travel and other logistics.
The statement from Mr. Trump’s spokesman did not explain how he had landed on Tuesday as an arrest date. One person with knowledge of the matter said that Mr. Trump’s advisers had guessed that it could happen around then, and that someone might have relayed that to the former president.
I guess we’ll see if he gets arrested on Tuesday and whether anyone shows up to protest.

More interesting to me than any actual legal action will be the reaction of his followers. Can he still command a resistance movement or has America moved on.
If he is indicted, the Manhattan Prosecutor's office will no doubt enter into negotiations with Trump or his attorneys about the process for surrendering himself to start the judicial process. After which he could enter an initial plea and then be released on his own recognizance. He isn't a flight risk. And if he refuses then they could issue an arrest warrant that pretty much every jurisdiction in the country would be obligated to uphold. So, for example, NY could request his extradition from Florida and the Florida police would be obligated to arrest him and send him back to NY.
Of course if it came to that there would probably be a blizzard of appeals and requests for stays and some Trump-friendly judge might go along and then we will be off and running with more of the endless circus.

I would suggest the left actually wants to keep Trump around as he is such a drag on the Republican party and probably more beatable than any other candidate.

I expect he doesn't know, but probably soon anyway. When he gets indicted in one jurisdiction it may break the dam holding back the other deserved indictments. Being a politician should not be a shield for one's crimes.
I hope some of the hold on his followers has been broken to the point that no violence breaks out. A few dozen crazies would be enough.

Or it’s possible that Trump is actually guilty of illegal activity and that he’s calling on his supporters because he’s freaking out and knows that they will see any attempt to hold Trump accountable as “political persecution.”
