I appreciate the Speaker of the House Johnson affirmation that a man is a man, and a woman is a woman, and a man cannot become a woman-
There is a transgender, Democrat from Deleware- so it was needed to be said regarding who can use the restrooms- thankfully Rs are taking the correct position-
He knew, they know, this position will be attacked-

Speaker of House Bold Gender Clarification
Re: Speaker of House Bold Gender Clarification
It is very good to see the scriptures being used as the foundation, for that is the foundation of all good and moral lawJohnson told reporters in the Capitol Tuesday afternoon. "For anybody who doesn’t know my well-established record on this issue, let me be unequivocally clear: A man is a man, and a woman is a woman. And a man cannot become a woman."
"That said, I also believe that’s what Scripture teaches, what I just said.

If the Democratic Party keeps pushing this “transgender “ line, they will be consigned to minority status. For most, it is a non starter. Apparently, ads on which the Democratic position was on full display were the most effective this cycle, go figure.

I thought they had actual work to do in Congress. Or so I was told.
Most of the bathrooms in the non-public areas of the capital are already unisex single-occupancy bathrooms. So this is all just performative nonsense intended more to get headlines than actually do anything.
If they were really worried about the safety of women in the capitol you would think they would have second thoughts about elevating so many sexual predators to high office.

Look- they can make up charges as they do to everyone they want to hurt- innocent until *,proven" guilty which they have not been. Not like Clinton but they still used Clinton to try to help Harris campaign so his history of womanizing got a pass.

You think the accusations against Gaetz and Hegseth were made up?Valerie wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 8:52 pmHe was responding to a question- and then clarified it.Ken wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 5:00 pm I thought they had actual work to do in Congress. Or so I was told.

If they're true, you can bet the Dems won't quit- they only expect people to look the other way at their own actual criminals they try to cover up.
They did make up accusations to keep Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh from his appointment by Trump ,(because heaven forbid another Pro-Life appointment gets in!) and it was terribly dirty what they "tried" to do to Kavanaugh. So I put nothing past the Dems anymore- the party that exalts, legalizes, and parades that which God calls sin would not think twice about twisting things.

Made up or not, he may not have violated the law. You do know, that the age of consent in Maryland is 16, it may be so in other places. If it is, no law was broken, although it has a very high "ewww" factor. While Gaetz may not have broken any law, his lack of legal qualification was outstanding. I am glad to see the back of him. He very well was on the road to being "Borked."Valerie wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 9:02 pmWe're they proven?Ken wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 8:55 pmYou think the accusations against Gaetz and Hegseth were made up?Valerie wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 8:52 pm

The one that was named in his place is a former state Attorney General for Florida. Much better qualified.

In both cases there is actual testimony from the victims. In Gaetz's case there are apparently FBI investigations and a House ethic's report that is damaging enough to make Gaetz resign from Congress rather than seeing it be released. And in Hegseth's case there is extensive police report.

It isn't an issue of state's ages of consent. He is accused of trafficking underaged women across state lines for sex which is a federal crime. And of paying for sex which is prostitution, also a crime.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 9:21 pmMade up or not, he may not have violated the law. The accusations are serious enough to get one disbarred in any state in the country. And a disbarred Attorney General would not be a good look.
