Theres something very interesting about the fact that most of the demand for Christianity in the past 10 years has been for a conservative flavor, but no one in these online circles ever brings up anabaptism.

I've observed the same thing. It's a painfully obvious choice, but... it demands too much. You have to give up something of this world you treasure, as opposed to just telling other people what to do.

I have followed this guy for quite awhile. He is hard core Christian Nationalist, advocates against freedom of religion. Calls it a big mistake of the fpunders. And has argued for burning people at the stake for capital crimes. He argues for repealing the 2nd amendment and has spoken favorably of how the Reformes church treated *heretics.*

Wow.

Do all of these conservative Reformed churches that teach/practice headcovering for women, congregational singing, etc, have the same theology or is this guy an anomaly?

I was aware of one in Australia. However, the guy's political views seem extreme. America has hundreds of thousands of churches; eventually you are going to find one that has some very extreme or strange beliefs.

Overall Reformed people are generally anti headcovering.

Note in these churches, headcovering is for MARRIED women only, for the most part. Reflects the distorted translation of the ESV of 1 Cor 11.

Reformed in the Netherlands and Scotland have practiced headcovering in the conservative breakaways from the main state churches.

I suppose you're aware that distortion goes back a bit further than the ESV translators. Tertullian wrote "On the Veiling of Virgins" a good while ago.

I remember hearing about this man from a few years ago. I don't know how widespread his views are in that wing of Christianity but it looks to me like what you get when the purpose of the state is to nurture/host the church, all the rest flows from this conviction.

As I see it...

Traditional Reform: the church and state are co-equal partners in God's redemptive plan

American Protestant: the duty of the church is to infiltrate and control the state to perform God's plan through it.

Reconstructionist and Nationalist Reform: the state must be fashioned to protect and nurture the church and protect it from contamination or abuse.

Anabaptist: the kingdom of heaven is the stone from Daniel that is cut from the mountain that eventually covers the whole world, displacing government but in the current era exists as strangers and pilgrims, and sheep among wolves by the supernatural power of Jesus, not looking for nor needing the power of the state.

I'm don't understand the Catholic and Orthodox worlds enough to summarize their approaches but I suspect it is a combination of the church mentoring or shepherding the state to perform God's plan.

I think the Anabaptist position and what is known as the theology of the two kingdoms is very well summarized
