What constitutes 'endless repetition' in your thinking?
"Asking for a friend."

1) forum high count posters*
2) mainstream media reports
*oops.
i hadn’t looked in awhile.
counts are skewed now, since not all members were removed at the last glitch.
o.well. it shouldn’t be taken too seriously, anyway.
Then i noticed .. this question is in General Theology. hmm. ok.
“The Power of Repetition in Scripture”

Elsewhere, a reference to “vain repetitions” - also interesting and important.

"Religious activity", specifically in song. I just get tired of it, and thought I'd ask here.

I feel your pain. When the same song is sung Every.Single.Sunday because it’s the song leader’s favorite. It’s gotten to be an ear worm like that song Small World. I predict someone is going to say something to the song leader soon. It might be me.

Repetition can be good, of course because it helps establish rhythm and rhythm is something that we are naturally drawn to. It of course can mean rhythm in regards to song and sound or rhythm as practice or ritual. So I don’t think repetition is bad on its own, but I also can understand that it feel boring and tedious when we’re not connected to it.

Endless repetition. When a preacher uses an excessive amount of first-person personal pronouns. And then many second person pronouns, which were about his wife, children and grandchildren. All in a bragging manner. Thankfully it was a visiting preacher.
2 Corinthians 4:5A, "For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord."

When it doesn't come from the heart and becomes ritual and repetition without spiritual benefit - then it becomes "vain repetition"
If the action or words come from a sincere heart, intentionally seeking to praise and glorify God or draw closer to him, making the repetition genuine worship, then it's a good thing. It depends on the heart.

Giving and receiving. Both blessings of the Spirit.
