2.Do you call it communion or something else?

3.How often do you do communion in your particular group?

4.Do you use grape juice or wine?

1.Does your group celebrate communion?
Yep.

2.Do you call it communion or something else?
We call it communion or the Lord’s Supper

3.How often do you do communion in your particular group?
We have it once a year on the Thursday before Easter.

4.Do you use grape juice or wine?
Grape juice.

5.What do you use for the bread?
That can vary depending on what’s available. Most of the time our ladies make a kind of hard tack. They make a double batch and freeze the rest for next year.

6.Is your communion service open to others who aren't part of your group but are Christian?
Only if they have a letter from their home pastor verifying they’re baptized and in good standing.

Yes, Catholics celebrate communion at every mass.
We use bread (host, wafer) and wine

Ther is no communion police so there is little enforcement by it is asked only Catholics in a proper state receive communion.
Other attendees are asked to pray.

I’m told that when there’s no mass you just have a prayer service with the deacon.

Ah yes, the great grape juice vs wine divide… surely what the early church was most concerned about.

Ah, yes. And let’s not forget the early church’s bold insistence that it had to be part wine, part water — as if precision blending was a sacrament. That ended up causing more division than the drink itself.

Just to be clearly understood I personally don't care which is used. I'm just answering the questions about which my church uses.

It is true that there are “services” at some Catholic Churches held by deacons when no Priest is available. I have never been to one and cannot understand why one would attend. Obligated church attendance is only met by an actual Mass, so why bother?
Deacons cannot perform the mass.

Deacons cannot perform the mass.
Is that the only reason to attend church? To fulfil an obligation?

I’ve never fully understood the “obligation”. They’re required to go to Mass once a year (to stay saved, I guess?), but “obligated” to go every Sunday plus 9 other holy days, but you can just confess once a year that you didn’t go to Mass on Sunday or the other days.

Plus in America the bishops decided we only need 6, not 9 Holy Days, and most of them fall on a Sunday anyway.
