"Original Sin" Are all other sins just copies or fake?

That the forbidden fruit Adam and Eve ate was an "apple."

From the hymn Away in a Manger, the verse stating of the baby Jesus, "No crying he makes." Is it sinful for an infant to cry? If so, is it sinful for me to scream "ouch" when I stub my toe?

"God helps those who help themselves."

"Money is the root of all evil." Bible actually says "the love of money is..."

Legalism. I think the concept is biblical, but the word is not in the Bible.

What version are you using?

If you used the KJV like you ought, this word would be included. ;) ;)

1 Cor 10; 13:

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Jesus did not come to make us righteous. He came to be our righteousness.

OK, many versions, including the NKJV do not use the word 'whale'. Actually a whale is a mammal not a 'big fish'. I'm not a KJV only believer as since the KJV was written, older and more reliable manuscripts were discovered by archeologists and used in later translations, imo. I do still like the KJV for personal memorizing of many verses. It might be an interesting poll here showing the main translated versions (no paraphrases), plus a 'other' category to see what the most used versions are used by those on this forum.

James 1:13,14

'Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.'

I have heard this phrase sometimes used referring to God putting temptation in our way to help us grow. James says that is a wrong way to look at it.
