And once upon a time that was called adaptation but people pushing things changed it to the word evolution as a way to explain those dogs turning into chickens and call real questioners - deniers. Again nonsense.

Re: Evidence for Evolution
I'm not sure what you are talking about. Adaptations play a key role in the theory of evolution by natural selection. They are the mechanism through which natural selection operates. Adaptations that confer a higher level of fitness (i.e. reproductive success) in a particular environment tend to get selected for over time. Whether it is nature doing the selection (natural selection) or humans doing the selection through selective breeding (artificial selection).NedFlanders wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 3:34 pm And once upon a time that was called adaptation but people pushing things changed it to the word evolution as a way to explain those dogs turning into chickens and call real questioners - deniers. Once, a different dog species through genetic change was called adaptation. It was still of the same kind whether it could still breed within that species.Ken wrote: ↑Sat Dec 09, 2023 4:00 pmI'm not sure what you are talking about. Once, a cob of corn was a cob of corn despite its color.
Once, human beings were all considered one race despite differences in outward appearance.
But now since the change in thought process evolution invokes racism because of how far something has developed because of the mechanism of it.
Just like evolution can now allow the idea that one dog can be less of a dog than another dog so can the perspective of evolution that goes beyond adaptation form thinking like this towards humans. I believe evolution is one of the most evil mindsets a person can contain at its core.

A chihuahua and a great dane cannot breed together naturally. It is physically impossible. If they were both wild species adapted to different environments they would meet every test to be considered separate species.
And if they were left in the wild over many generations we would expect the two populations to drift further apart since cross-breeding would not ever occur.
As for corn? One ear of corn is not one ear of corn despite color. We know that the Mesoamericans selectively bread corn over thousands of years from an ancestral grass called teosinte which is nothing like modern corn.

Re: Evidence for Evolution
I must be more primitive since my digestion doesn’t like corn and grains and mostly only adjust well to a meat only diet. So we can also infer my brain isn’t as evolved as yours.

Evolution isn't about being more or less developed.
If you wanted to apply evolution to your dietary preferences then we might possibly say that your brain and your digestive system are more adapted for hunting meat while my brain and my digestive system are more adapted to farming grains. They are two different skill sets. Although I don't think there is any evidence that human populations have diverged in such a manner.
But we would not say that one of us is more or less "developed"

Would it be possible for a female great dane to get pregnant by a male chihuahua through artificial insemination?

Re: Evidence for Evolution
Yes that’s why he said naturally.
A great white turkey cannot reproduce with itself so obviously it fails the test of species.
Anyway… arguing over If the evidence for evolution even exists is a waste of time. We know for a fact it is not testable nor reproducible. Gravity as the example earlier meets the criteria.
Things like horizontal gene transfer isn’t making new data and finding bacteria frozen away with resistance to modern antibiotics tells us they had it before we developed these antibiotics. That is no different then genetic traits within a species.
Experiments with Ecoli don’t prove that those “new” genes were not there to begin with. Nor did fruit flies sprouting wings through forced mutations yield anything usable.
Now Ken will undoubtably have arguments against anything raised and nothing said will shake his naturalist leanings. Likewise those who believe the creation account given by God through man are not going to change our minds either.
