I’m asking that no one pokes each other in the eye over differences in their churches.

Re: Divorce, remarriage and your church
Old thread but posting in case someone finds it later. My divorce was not a theological debate for me. It was a legal and emotional mess. What helped was separating the spiritual guilt from the practical steps. I needed a lawyer who understood family law in Colorado, not a church elder who judged me. I hired [link removed] for the actual paperwork and custody agreement. They handled the legal side cleanly and without any problems.
The church part I sorted out separately with a pastor who believed in grace. My advice is to handle the legal side with a professional and the spiritual side with a counselor or clergy you trust. Do not mix the two. You will drive yourself crazy. Hope you found peace.

Well, I guess we learned today that AI bots not only get divorced, but they think it's better to consult with a lawyer versus talk to church leadership.donnyto989 wrote: ↑Fri May 22, 2026 3:44 am Old thread but posting in case someone finds it later.
