First of all, Romans 13 doesn't establish that government or Big Pharma is instituted by God to use aborted babies in order to create medical treatments. There is no legitimate reason for anyone to abort a baby or use foetal tissue from abortions; there are legitimate reasons to be a soldier, a government official, or a police officer.Ernie wrote: ↑Tue Jan 25, 2022 11:30 am So Josh... This is the kind of reasoning I have about using vaccines that use fetal cell lines or are tested on fetal tissue. I'm curious why you feel strongly on the one and not the other? This is not a gotcha question... I really am interested in knowing your thought processes...
Secondly, I do not go out and actively resist vaccines. I don't try to force other people not to get them; if someone asks me where a vaccination site is, or my opinion on getting them, I share the pros and cons. If someone doesn't share my moral view, I don't try very hard to persuade them. The last person who asked me about getting vaccinated - my main concern was to encourage him to get health insurance, or a Christian health sharing ministry, so he could have help if he ends up with medical problems from the vaccine. So I told him that.
I would view my attitude towards police the same way. I'm not a police officer, and I don't stockpile arms for personal self defence. But I don't go out of my way to actively resist the police, or to resist others who engage in self defence. I live at peace with my neighbours who own firearms, and who might also be vaccinated.
I guess I do, simply because my "turning around" on abortion is a big part of my new birth experience and becoming a Christian. For the first few months I was a believer I didn't think abortion was a big deal, and couldn't understand why some Christians were so worked up about it. Now I see it is a very grave evil and must be resisted at every opportunity. If there are vaccines that are not associated with aborted fetuses, I prefer those because it avoids implication by association, but I don't see it as a moral issue.
