I was in Poland about 18 years ago, and randomly noticed that their calendars were like this. Quite intriguing to me at the time to see Sunday as the last day in the week.

Germany also, and elsewhere in Europe. Woe betide the traveler who ignores the column headings when making hotel reservations.

From a certain logic it makes more sense to have the "week end" at the end of the week instead of broken apart like we do it.

I agree.
So maybe this is all we need to do to satisfy proponents of both Saturday worship and Sunday worship. Really, isn't the day's name and position on the calendar arbitrary anyway? So long as we take a day off every 7 days does it really matter what we call it?

Calling Sunday the 1st day of the week instead of the last is, indeed arbitrary. I'm not sure there is anything Biblical about it.

Saturday is named "saturday" after Saturnus or Saturn, the Greek god of time, abundance and peace. And not in some reference to "sabbath"

The Romans (at least in the earlier Republican days) didn't really use weeks. They counted forward to the Kalends (first day of the month) Nones (7th day of the month) and Ides (15th day of the month) and so forth.

Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

I didn't pay attention to the calendar until I saw the next comment. I thought you were referring to the Sabbaths that are not on Saturday - special Sabbaths.

I was referring to the name. Our days of the week are named after the Roman names for the sun and moon and 5 visible planets and not anything Biblical. There is nothing that says Sunday (after the sun) needs to be the first day of the week.
