Revivals and Renewals

[danfreed]

Revival, renewal, restoration, regeneration, resurrection - all sound good to me!
And all because of the Lord Jesus Christ.

A few great Bible verses on renewal...

Romans 12:2: "Be transformed by the renewing of your mind".
2 Corinthians 4:16: "Our inner being is renewed day by day".
Ephesians 4:23: "be renewed in the spirit of your mind".
Psalm 103:5: "who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's".

And one of my favorite songs, "Revive us Again"

We praise thee, O God,
For the Son of thy love,
For Jesus who died
And is now gone above.

We praise Thee, O God!
For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Saviour,
And scattered our night.

All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain
Who hath borne all our sins
And hath cleansed every stain.

All glory and praise
To the God of all grace,
Who has bought us; and sought us,
And guided our ways.

Revive us again;
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above.

Refrain-
Hallelujah, thine the glory!
Hallelujah, Amen!
Hallelujah, thine the glory!
Revive us again.

Has your church or congregation experienced a revival or a renewal in the past 10 years. (Definition of revival/renewal for this thread: a special effort to get back to the basics of the Bible and the vision of your group's founders.)

"Revival" is considered worldly by the majority of Plain groups.
