I haven't read all of this article yet, but I thought I'd throw it out there, in case it is of interest. This is from a Jewish site, and they often have provoking insights that others miss. (Or it seems so to me.)

From the parts that I have read, the author is exploring the value that AI puts on God's favorite part of creation - humanity. Or, perhaps one should say the potential of AI to devalue humanity.
AI - Artificial Intelligence and the Value of Mankind
Re: AI - Artificial Intelligence and the Value of Mankind
One could ask if other human inventions have valued or de- valued humanity. Printing press? (Radically shifted the distribution of knowledge but also plunged Europe into centuries of war). Industrial revolution? Internal combustion? Smelting Iron? The city? Nuclear energy? Has human invention increased or decreased the value of life?
